Spike: (Hesitantly) I?m sorry. I know you and him are (almost choking of disgust) friends again. (She still had a bit of a pout on her face. Spike, kissed her hand, and then her cheek. She looked at him with a hesitant pout but then a tiny smile.) That a girl.
Walking on, Shasta felt a heavy gravity pull, her eyes began to droop and she felt like she was about to collapse, looking at him, Spike looked confused, almost worried, Shasta looked like she was in pain for a moment.)
Shasta: (Looking at him while she held her stomach) Go, get Angel.
Spike: (Nearly worried) What?s wrong with you?! Why do you want me to find Angel?
Shasta: Just find him. Grab the book from the car. Hurry!
(Spike looked at her again, concerened that she was in such pain. With one last look he ran as fast as his legs would carry him. Turning through the maze the cars had created, Spike found dead ends and wrong turns. With one last turn, he found Angel and Cordelia.)
Spike: Angel! (Startled them, Cordelia spun around quickly and fired another arrow at him, once again missing him by an inch. Glaring at her with infinite rage he looked at Angel.) Come quick, Shasta?s in trouble. Go find her, I have to get the book from the car! Hurry!
(Charles and Wesley could hear the screams or pain and the yelling in the distance, listening to the noise; they ran to find the source. Angel and Cordy found Shasta moving slightly in pain while holding her stomach. Angel ran over and grabbed her arms pulling her away from whatever was causing her pain. She laid on the ground her yellow eyes were dialated, cold sweat was rolling down her face. Wesley and Charles showed up armed, but distressed to see there was no Loqumeer.)
Charles: What happened?
Angel: I don?t know, she just was laying here, holding her stomach.
Shasta: (Her vampiric face was pale, Looking up at Angel who was now looking at her) Where is Spike? I need the book.
Angel: What happened?
Shasta: I found a gate but we need the book and the Loqumeer.
Cordy: I hate dimensional tunnels.
(Spike ran back with the book in his hand, stopping at Shasta?s side. She sat up slowly but then turned the pages quickly. Reaching the incantation, she looked at Angel.)
Shasta: The Loqumeer is looking for you Angel, you have to draw it here, with blood.
(Shasta stood up, shaking barely holding her balance. Pulling her sword out, still stained with Angel?s dried blood, she began to swing it about, airing the sent around. They heard the growl of the monster in the distance, and the sounds of cars crunching beneath it?s weight. Closer, and closer, the creature was drawing nearer and nearer still, until they couldn?t hear the crunching anylonger. Growing tense, everyone looked around them and above them. Not a sound, not even the exhaling of breath. Angel, looked at the rest of them, he turned his back to the cars behind him. Suddenly a great shockwave shook the ground.)
Cordr: Angel! Lookout!
(Not even enough time to see what it was, the creature had sent Angel flying into a distant pile of cars, his back hit them first then his stomach as it slammed into the ground.
Charles fired an arrow at the creature hitting it dead center in the arm. With a small cry of pain the creature ran to Charles, head butting him in the stomach, until his body met with Wesley?s. Shasta noticed this and quickly cut her hand on the blade of her sword, walking up behind it she squeezed her hand more tightly; blood dripped to the ground. The Loqumeer, smelling the blood turned around to look at her hand.)
Shasta: I command you to stop.
(The creature stopped in it?s tracks not moving an inch. Shasta walked closer to it, still holding her bloody hand to it, she looked over at the three man who were recuperating from their attacks, Spike had enjoyed everyone of them as long as he wasn?t the one getting the pounding. Shasta looked back at the creatures eyes, the Loqumeer turned it?s head to look at her, with an angry grin it shook it?s head. Shasta grew more frightened than she had ever been. The monster stopped shaking it?s head and swung one of it?s giant ape-like arms at her. Knocking the wind out of her, Shasta?s head collided with a car window, shattering it. Landing on the ground she coughed madly, Spike ran at the monster with all of his vampiric strength. Punching it in the gut the monster flew backward in the air, holding its throbbing pain. Spike in surprise saw the monster?s anger, walking faster and faster at Spike.)
Spike: Bloody he-
(The creature hit Spike in the gut, the same place Spike punched it. Shasta crawled to the book as the rest of them beat and took beatings themselves. Cordy was the only one left the monster looked at her for a moment, but with a twitch of it?s head it charged her as well. Braced for the hit she landed on top of Spike.)
Spike: Well this is quit the position isn?t it?
(With a sigh of disgust she rolled off of him.)
Shasta: (Yelling to Angel) Angel! (Angel looking at her) Try to distract it. I have to open the gate.
(Grabbing the book, Shasta began to flip through the pages. Her eyes grew wider when she found it. Smiling, she read what she had to do.
If the beasts master wants the beast contained, blood must be summoned once more, and changes must be reversed. Chant the incantation three times again:
Commedarus
Meximill
Alabearus
Not understanding what ?Changes must be reversed? meant she didn?t care. Running back to the portal, the gravity kicked in once more but not the pain. Cutting her other hand the portal turned blue and was in plain view again. Reading the spell it clicked in her mind.)
Shasta: (Screaming) SPIKE!
(Hearing her scream, Spike ran over to her, as the rest of them held off the monster. Grabbing his hand she knelt beside her. The portal slowly began to change green and black again)
Shasta: (Yelling through the loud yelps and winds) Commedarus, Meximill, Alabearus. Commedarus, Meximill, Alabearus. Commedarus, Meximill, Alabearus.
(The winds from the portal grew stronger, pushing but at the same time changing the vampire?s back to their human form. Shasta stood and let the blood from her hands touch the ground.)
Shasta: Angel! (Angel now attentive) Draw it here quick!
(Angel and the rest of his friends began pounding repeatedly at the monster, backing it up slowly, the creature was now at the foot of the portal. With one last kick to the beasts throat, the creature flew down the portal screaming all the way. When the Loqumeer could no longer be seen; the portal closed with a bright flash of blue light, sending everyone flying backward. When the light had passed, everyone sat back up looking around stunned for a moment, then realizing it was over, they all began to laugh except Spike, some of them lay back down while some still sat up. Spike looking very displeased looked around at the rest of them, Angel looked back at him smiling at first but then unhappy.)
Angel: What?s wrong with you?
Spike: (Getting up, shaking the dirt off of his jeans and coat.) I can?t believe I helped you bunch of good people.
Cordy: (Sarcastically, as Spike began to walk away) Maybe you?ll have to come and help us fight monsters and we can be one big happy crime fighting family.
Spike: (Turning around shocked with disgust) Not bloody likely!
(Laughing Shasta watched Spike disappear and then followed him, also dissapearing.)
Shasta: Spike? (He turned around to look at her) Where are you going?
Spike: I have to go back to Sunnydale. The L.A. night life isn?t my thing, especially since Angel lives here.
Shasta: (Almost in tears) I thought you were going to stay with me?
Spike: I can?t, but I?ll write. Sunnydale is my home now, besides I have to go back there and help Buffy, that?s what I do now. Besides, I miss torturing Xander.
(Spike began to walk away, with tears nearly forming in his own eyes he could hear the small weeps from Shasta.)
Shasta: Spike? (Looking at her once more) Please don?t go.
(Spike walked back to her and kissed her lips tenderly, placing his hand on her cheek, she wimpered through his kiss. Pulling away he took a few steps backward, placing her hands on top of the one that was still on her cheek she wept even more. Spike began to walk away but Shasta pulled him toward herself and kissed him passionately. Finally stopping, Spike tried to fight the tears that were in his eyes, walking away.)
Shasta: I love you.
(With one last look back at her, he smiled a little and then turned, disappearing behind the cars. She looked to the pile he had turned behind, hoping Spike would come back, when he didn?t, her knees hit the dirt and she cried into her hands.)
(Angel, Cordelia, Wesley, and Charles still sat laughing. Until all that could be heard was Angel laughing to himself. Looking around at the rest of them, who had saddened features. A couple more chuckles left Angel?s lips and then he looked up at Shasta, who was looking down at the ground. Looking up at Angel, her face and eyes were red like she had been crying for weeks. Standing up he walked over to her. Her hair was limp, as was the rest of her body. Opening her arms she bawled on his shoulder. Angel knew Spike had left, her tears had explained that quite clearly. With a sigh, Angel walked with her close. Everyone left the scrap yard. The sun had dawned over the horizon, Shasta and Angel were covered in blankets, sleeping on each other, the reached the ?A.I.? building. Laying on the couch Shasta slept deadly, Angel slept, but woke up every once and a while to check on her.)
(Two nights later, Shasta crept down in the sewer, with her flashlight, hoping that Spike would be there waiting for her. Creaking open the door she felt a shiver. The room was empty and cold, no fire, only ashes. The room smelt musty and unclean, not the smell of blood and Spike. The desk was gone, as was the chair. The bed was now a mattress on the ground, it didn?t have the beautiful wood columns covered in black lace, it wasn?t beautiful and draped in silk like she remembered. Crying a bit as reality struck her daydream she looked to the corner of the room where her duffel bag lay, untouched. Her clothes were still inside, none of them missing. Picking up her bag she felt something, a small box. Pulling the box out, she let bag fall to the floor. Examining the square figure she possesed, there was silver wrapping with a black ribbon. Pulling the ribbon and wrapping off she opened the box to see a small gold neckalce. A gold locket dangled at the bottom of the chain, in the shape of a heart with a diamond shaped emerald in the center. Her tears of sadness were now tears of happiness, she chuckled a couple of times. Opening the locket, there was a small message inside that read:
? I?ll never forget you luv.?
Fastning the neckalce around her neck she grabbed her duffle bag, turning to walk out of the room. With one last look back she was flooded with memories, the mug, the first time they made love. Shaking them away, she closed the door with a smile on her face.)
(Going back to the ?A.I? building, a car was there, her car. Her new friends stood on the side walk watching her pack her things into her trunk. Looking at them, all lined up sad, she smiled and walked over to them.)
Shasta: I?ll be back. I?ll join a new band, come back to L.A. and see you guys again, except this time I won?t summon any demons. (Giggling)
(Walking to Angel she placed her hand on his cheek, kissing his other. Looking to his beautiful eyes she walked to Cordelia. Hugging her tightly.)
Shasta: Well, next time I come we?ll have to go shopping,
Cordy: (Crying, slightly) Definiteley.
(Shasta walked over and hugged Wesley, and Charles, for a few minutes, and then backed up looking at them all.)
Shasta: Well, I?m out of here.
(Walking to the driver?s side she slammed her trunk shut. Climbing inside she started up the engine, pulling away into the darkness, she outstretched her hand waving to them. Taking a left turn she was gone. Angel turned to Cordelia who was crying a little.)
Angel: Are you going to be ok?
Cordy: Yeah. I?m fine. (Walking into the building with the rest of them) You know, for half of the time that she wasn?t evil. It was really good to see her again.
(Laughing the door closed behind them)
(High on top of a building, a man with nearly albino hair watched the car pull away, filling his lungs with smoke from the cigarette he was smoking, throwing it to the ground, he looked up at the moon.)
Spike: I love you too.
(Smiling he turned to walk away, with the moon on his back he walked onward until his figure could not be seen.)
