About Me...

Now that I have your attention, I will begin by telling you a little about myself.
My name is Mathew Shelby and I was born on June 10, 1980 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My mother, Franceen Shelby, has been responsible for keeping me fed, clothed and out of trouble (well, for the most part anyways). She is one of the strongest women I know and the best mother that I could have ever asked for. As this page progresses I will dedicate an entire page to her, but for the time being I want her to know how important she is in my life.
The past twenty two years of my life have flown by so quickly that I will not bore you with the details-actually they are kind of boring. I have been in school now for sixteen years of my life and sometimes it seems as if I will never get out, but I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel.

**Graduate School sometime in the future**
I arrived on the scene at Florida State in Fall 1999 and I knew from my days in high school that I wanted a fresh start-college was the perfect place to do this. While looking for financial aid information on the internet, I came across the Southern Scholarship Foundation. This is where I spent the first two years of my college life. Almost all of my friends now I met while living in the Lastinger House.
Now I am a senior at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida and I will be graduating in June 2003. I am majoring in Criminology and Criminal Justice and I have a minor in Sociology. There was no question in my mind about what college to attend when it came time to decide-I will always be a Seminole in my heart.
