What Was God Thinking When He Made Bugs?

Every one of us has a phobia. I don’t care how tough a person is, or seems to be, he or she is still afraid of something. My own personal phobia, is Dogs. I’ve always been terrified of them for as long as I can remember. I’m also afraid of flying, and believe it or not, I’m also afraid of balloons. One single balloon doesn’t strike terror into me, but you know when you go into a party, and there are hundreds of them on the ceiling in a net waiting to be released? That terrifies me. The instant they are released, I feel as if I’m suffocating, and I have to get out of there, fast! As people start to burst them, and all that stale air comes out of them, I know I’m going to die. I can’t stand them. Silly, isn’t it! But for most people, the number one phobia, is Death, followed by the subject matter of this poem. - BUGS. If you have a special fear, why not let me write you a funny poem about it. They say that laughter is the best medicine, and maybe, just maybe, a comedic verse may help you to overcome your fear; though I offer no guarantee on that!

What Was God Thinking When He Made Bugs?
By Amanda Jay Clark.

What was God thinking when he made bugs?
What is their purpose in life?
They hide in the corners and walk on the floor,
In huge numbers, creepy and rife!
Why did He make big fat spiders,
To spin hideous webs on the ceiling?
They’re hairy, they’re fast and they’re ugly,
And definitely unappealing!
Was God having an off day,
When he said, I think I’ll make fleas?
They can bite and annoy domestic animals,
More painfully than the sting of the bees.
Why does the word need mosquitoes?
There’s nothing they do that is good.
They’re as appreciated as the tax man.
They both just suck on our blood!
Has God seen what his creation the house fly,
Does when he flies in our house?
They crap on our food and vomit,
Like an inexcusable louse.
Perhaps it’s just God’s sense of humour,
To make more insects than He made men,
But if this is His idea of a practical joke,
I do wish He would think again!
Does He know of the disgust and horror,
That comes with each generation?
As bugs creep up unaware on us,
With their grotesque infestation.
Thou shalt not kill, is a commandment.
I’m not denying that’s true,
But any insects that come into my house,
I squish them just like you do!
