I’ve Got Proof That Dirt Is A Living Thing.

I am so tired of housework. It never ends. I’m sure that dirt is becoming more intelligent by the day, and is learning to hide from me, and jumping out and say BOO the minute I put the cloth, duster, or vacuum away. This is my promise; "Dirt, wherever you go, wherever you hide, I’m gonna get you!!!"

I’ve Got Proof That Dirt Is A Living Thing.
By Amanda Jay Clark.

I’ve got proof that dirt is a living thing,
Cos I dust my house every day.
But it’s back all over the furniture,
Before I’ve put my duster away.
I shake the cloth out of the window,
With the dirt from the wood and the floor.
Where it grows legs as fast as an athletes,
And marches back in through the door.

I run the Hoover over the carpets,
Three or four times a week.
But the dirt’s never really been sucked away,
It’s just been playing hide and seek!
When I turn my back for a moment,
It leaps back out of the bag,
And covers the rugs as bad as before,
As it clings to the pile and the shag.

I take great care when laundering my clothes,
To remove stains of food, and drink.
As soon as they’re back on my body,
The marks return before I can blink.
Grime must hide between all of the fibres,
As they sit in the washing machine.
How else would they avoid the powder and bleach,
And fool me into thinking they’re clean!

The dirt in the kitchen and bathroom,
Seems to be the most sneaky of all.
With great gusto, I scrub with detergents,
On the surfaces, and tiles on the wall.
But, you know what I’m going to tell you.
It had all been a useless chore.
The dirt had just been toying with me,
And it was still as bad as before.

It’s the same with my personal hygiene.
I shampoo the grease from my hair,
But before I’ve had chance to style it,
I’ve got dandruff flakes everywhere.
I scrub the sweat and filth from my body,
To keep myself free from B.O.
But less than a few hours later,
I’ve lost that just washed glow.

Is there no way on earth to get rid of dirt?
Any way to kill it stone dead?
One of these days, it’ll overpower me,
And end up killing me instead.
I scrub, I polish, I wash, and wipe,
But it’s all to no avail.
The dirt grows smarter and learns to hide deeper,
So it wins, and I always fail!
