Introduction

This engine is made up of many different components, including the following:

1.Turbo-charger unit

2.Combustion chamber

3.Ignition system

4.Oil pump

5.Mounting bracket

6.Leaf blower

7.Exhaust pipe Jet nozzle

8.RPM Sensor (add on 09/03/2007)

1.Turbo-charger unit

The turbo-charger  It is  from Daihatsu Charade . The charade is powered by a 4 cylinder petrol engine, which this turbo is from. The compressor inlet is 34 mm diameter, the compressor wheel is 30 mm in diameter, the turbine outlet is 34 mm in diameter.

2.Combustion chamber

The combustion chamber for this unit took much time and effort to design. Since the compressor is so small, I felt that I would need a small combustion chamber to slow the flow of air and allow the mixing of the fuel. Most of the combustion chambers I have seen have the high pressure air input come in from one side. This requires a shield, called a flame tube, to allow proper mixing of the fuel and air, and to prevent the high pressure air from blowing the flame out. While this idea seems to work, I was concerned about the development the pattern of dilution holes in the flame tube, which is essential to proper operation and easy starting. The high pressure air can and should be used to contain the flame and make it stable. It should prevent any flame from coming into direct contact with the wall of the combustion chamber. I wondered if there wasn't a better way to keep the flame in the exact center of the combustion chamber, mix the fuel correctly with the air, do this efficiently, and have it work  well for me. I figured that my combustion chamber should be made out of tubing that is at least 84mm in diameter, and be about 9 inches high.

3.Ignition system

I made a Coil driver circuit viewed on power labs site using old coil from car and it work very well.12 v battery is needed.

4.Oil pump

The oil pump will need to supply 30-40psi oil pressure to the hydrodynamic bearings. It will need to be very reliable, and will be run most of the time .I am using an oil pump from Daihatsu charade.  It is mounted to an panel and linked via a pulley system to an electric motor. This pulley system allows me to get a lower RPM and higher torque out of the electric motor. The oil pump has a built-in pressure valve that prevents the oil pressure from exceeding 40psi.

5.Mounting bracket

I made bracket with 1.75 inch thick rectangular pipe 14 inch height and 16 inch long at center weld a strip and mount a turbo on it .i made oil tank with two milk can by sold them together capacity of oil tank about 1.25 liter at bottom of bracket install oil pump and wiper motor and paint it with black colour.

6.Leaf Blower (Starter)

I use a leaf blower as a starter which is very useful to start the small turbo's .I use Black n Decker 600 w blower .(sorry no picture)

7.Exhaust pipe Jet nozzle

Exhaust pipe is not yet complete I am working  on it.

8. RPM Sensor

RPM sensor made with discrete infrared LED from old TV remote and a circuit to amplify the Digital signals. The circuit is downloaded from site Nicolas  turbo jet engine builder. The output signals are measured with Digital Multimeter which have frequency counter option luckily I have one.
