Location of Stongehenge

This ancient monument of huge stones solitarily standing on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England has captured imaginations for centuries. Theories about who built it have included the Druids, Greeks, Phoenicians, and Atlanteans. Speculation on the reason it was built range from human sacrifice to astronomy. Investigations over the last 100 years have revealed that Stonehenge was built in several stages from 2800 - 1800 BC. It seems to have been designed to allow for observation of astronomical phenomena - summer and winter solstices, eclipses, and more.

On this day, we woke up at 6am early in the morning because the bus will waiting for us at 7am beside the Norfolk Park Granville Road. Although we are quite rush on this morning but finally we still managed to make ourselves in time. Altogether there are 6 buses hired for this trip. It took us about 5 hours from Sheffield Norfolk Park to Stonehenge.

Some photos have been taken in Stonehenge:

After reaching the Stongehenge, we fell very disappointed. It does true that there just got few stones arranged together with green green glass as its base.

Sucks! The entrance fee cost about £3, do you think that this is too expensive? I didn't willing to buy the entrance ticket so that i only allowed to take some photos outside and there is fences covering those stones.

Since the souvenir gallery is built behind the ticketing counter and the main entrance, so i didn't bought any souvenirs as well. So sad!

We were hanging around Stonehenge for 2 hours before we moved our destination to Bath.
