Sl*t! Growing Up Female with a Bad Reputation -- by Leora Tanenbaum - A truly empowering book for those of us that had to hear that word one to many times in High school.
Fast Girls: Teenage Tribes and the Myth of the Sl*t -- by Emily White- the same vein as the last book but it focuses a bit more on female social groups and less on our Culture as a whole.
The Yellow Wallpaper -- by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, forward by Elaine Hedges- this is a classic that deals with feminine struggle against a binding society. Literary masterpiece.
God and the Victim: Theological Reflections on Evil, Victimization, Justice, and Forgivenessby Lisa Barnes Lampman- This book has a very interesting chapter on women and patriarchy.
Race Matters-- by Cornel West , this has to be one of the most profound true candid books on race relations and our current society.
Surviving The Silence- Black Women's Stories of Rape.-by Charlotte Pierce-Barker- This is a very moving book about survivors and in the African American community as well as the men in thier lives.
Agianst Our Will-by Susan Bromwiller- This is a book that explians the history of rape laws and looks at the crime in a sociological and feminsist way.
