As a star in her own right and growing up in St. Louis as the youngest girl of four siblings, Sharonda " Shayy" Irving had dreams of one day taking the world by storm! At the early age of eleven, she started dancing and singing. Whether it was in church, talent shows in school or around town, she loved the excitement performing gave her. Although shy as a girl, it was something about being in front of an audience that gave her the confidence she always desired. As a teen, she was contantly asked if she had done any modeling so one day she decided to give it a try. After a couple of model search scams and unecessary modeling school training, she eventually learned from her mistakes and found herself on the right track. She joined a local modeling agency and began doing runway shows and print work and people soon took notice. It didn't take long for the acting bug bite. She eventually landed her first acting role in the St. Louis independent film Hairdo U. But the the St. Louis market proved to be too small for her big appetite. She then decided to take it a step further and moved to Chicago. There she did another independent film and some hosting and spokesmodeling on a local video cable show. Though they were great experiences, it was not the success she'd hoped to achieve so she decided to move back to St. Louis.Two years later, she took the plunge and dove in head first to the city of dreams; Los Angels were she now resides. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, she's landed principal roles in commercials and has been featured in television shows and movies. Though success may be something one may strive to acheive, being humble is something that is definately the key to maintaining it and she continues to be humbled no matter how far her dreams may take her! |
