    Process For Eagle Application
  1. Obtain a "Life to EAGLE packet" from the Council Headquarters for each LIFE Scout. (BSA National Form)
  2. Obtain a copy of "The LAST STEP to Becoming an EAGLE SCOUT" from the Council Headquarters for each LIFE Scout. (Narragansett Council handout)

  1. Troop/Troop Committee work with the LIFE SCOUT to select an EAGLE PROJECT and Troop Committee approves the service project concept.
  2. After the unit approval is made, You need to acquire the signatures of the unit Scoutmaster, Unit committee member, and the Religious institution, school, or community representative of the unit.
  3. You must present your project concept to the representative of the group that will benefit from the project. Get their approval signature.
  4. ONLY After all those signatures are in place do you call the District Representative to meet and discuss the project.

    If arrangements cannot be made to meet in person, you can mail your unfinished project (along with a self addressed stamped return envelope)

    ((This MUST be received a month before the project is to be completed.))
    If there is any major concerns about the project, Mr. DeStefano will call the unit Scoutmaster.
  5. ONLY AFTER FINAL APPROVAL AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL ARE YOU TO PROCEED WITH THE PROJECT.

      AFTER ALL PROJECT WORK IS COMPLETED
    1. Application, Service Project Workbook, Life Statement, Three UNOPENEDletters of recommendations (one from a religious leader) and all required signatures are to be placed together and sent to Narragansett Council Headquarters. (DO NOT SEND BINDERS)
    2. The reviewed application is then passed on to the SHAWOMET District Advancement Representative Chairmen: MR. ALFRED DESTEFANO. He will then send it on to a member of the Advancement Committee to setup a Progress Review Board.
    3. Progress Review completed-paperwork is returned to the unit for delivery back to Council Headquarters so that it can be sent it to National BSA for final approval.
    4. AN ADVANCEMENT REPORT is necessary to record the EAGLE ADVANCEMENT
