Responsibilities: Implementation of IEEE-1588 Precision Clock Synchronization Protocol for Networked Measurement & Control Systems; Used UDP multicast, for synchronizing the real-time apps in Automation. Responsibilities: Engaged in the research, analysis, and design of enhancements to interface the Local Control Network with customized apps, to run real-time high speed applications at automation and control layer for integration of complex control systems. Identified key problems, designed network architecture prototype, data communication module design. PPC Display Builder:

Responsibilities: Wrote a display builder that; create/modify several geometrical objects, insert bmp/gif as an object. Save as vector files(text/graphics/objects) and bitmap files, loading bitmaps as icons. Responsibilites: A server, a client, windows service app, and a remote backend database for main data storage of all clients. Capable of: blocking websites, report HW changes, stops any exe soft, key logger, desktop captures, rollback of all changes made within a specified amount of time, client messages/ads, client to server(admin) chat, logs of abnormal activity by the client(ftp,smtp,telnet), shutdown a client, close an app running on a client, a complete log of clients activity and desktop captures. Digital Reactivity Meter:
TeamSize: 1
Responsibilities: Wrote a Digital Reactivity Meter (DRM) for a Power Plant. Reactivity meter is used to monitor the behavior of reactivity during the startup physics testing. The computer takes data (flux and other attributes) from the instrumentation system and calculates the reactivity. Responsible for maintaining and extending an application that communicated with an embedded data acquisition HW. Also, post-processing and analysis of acquired data. Responsible for porting algorithms developed by scientists and other engineering staff into the application. Worked closely with stakeholders to define new functionality, especially with respect to the GUI. The product needed VC6/MFC/RTP/NI DAC HW,W2K/98.

DCS Software:
Role: Developer/Analyst

Responsibilites: Developed a graphical user interface, used to monitor the operating facilities(machines) having separate missions and controlling devices, monitoring all equipments and diagnostic instruments, graphical behavior for analyzing the running status of the machines; provided toolbars for calculating the machine parameters, warning alerts, and protecting the equipment when accidents happen or equipment fails. Also, online report generation to printer, plotter, and save as images, gathering selected data from local host and displaying it in graphical format. VC6.0/MFC/ActiveX/W2K.

SunWin Communication Module:
Role: Developer

Responsibilites: Developed communication module for a simulation app. using Winsock/BSD. Client over SunOS Solaris 5.6 and Server on W2K/SP4 Machine. Used shared-memory to send the data to main server running on W2K; which after analysis transfers the data to the connected terminals. Also added safety limit handling. Error checking and reporting capabilities of the module were also extended. VC/MFC/WinSock/W2K, GCC/BSDSocket/Solaris5.6.

Analog Level Gauge:
TeamSize: 1
Responsibilites: Developed analog level guage activex component. Displays a cylindrical glass tank that is linearly filled with a colored liquid according to the value you want to represent, which can vary in a specified range. All the geometric parameters can be customized. VC/W2K.

Pressure Needle Gauge:
TeamSize: 1
Responsibilites: Coded a semi-circular gauge that used a needle inside color bands to display the current value within a low and high limit. Visual indicators for low and high alarm ranges are controlled by properties that allow you to change colors, ranges, and values. VC/MFC/GDI/W2K/98.

Weather Forecasting System (GIS):
Responsibilites: Wrote modules for; encoding/decoding, filtering, extracting information for temps, pilot and synoptic data, loading long/lats table, creating code matrix. Printing of any size/area on screen. Writing algorithm for drawing of ISO bars. Used raster over vector graphics for symbolic representation (image matrix) of TEMPS, PILOT and SYNOPTIC Data on any device i.e. screen, printer, plotter, fax, etc. Wrote a Parser, Filtering, encoding and decoding of the temps, and synoptic data. Printing of the map in any format on local or networked printer as well as plotter. Basic and functional design documents, discussing, reviewing and testing them with Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi, and with the team as well. The utilized the skills set of VC6/MFC/Winsock(TCPIP/FTP)/Extensive Printing Techniques, ASP, DHTML, W2K.

Academic Experience:
Urdu Messenger Service (UMS) Final year project, a commercial software, Urdu Internet Relay Chat(UIRC) and the Urdu Messenger Services (UMS). A client/server based distributed system; Worked with Urdu, Roman, and English language. Also, developed a web based registration system for the UMS. Using VC 6.0, MFC, ASP, DAO, Sockets, DHTML.

Oracle/Developer2000 'Employee Information System' works in NT4.0 environment; accessing a remote database over a network of 65 PC's. Its backend was developed using the SQL* Plus and the front end was created using Developer2000 (Forms 4.0).

Java, An e-commerce based(e-dukaan) website was developed which used a shopping cart, using D/HTML, JSP, Java Scripts, Beans using the JDBC; The application was designed using Dreamweaver (3.0), Flash 4.0, Jbuilder Professional (3.0), HomeSite4.5, UML notions using Rational Rose 98 (4.5).

BASH, Linux Shell programming using C. A utility with calculator & file copy/delete/new/save options.

Device Drivers, Hardware interfacing and development of PC 8086 processor and motherboard using 8255, 8251 & 8259. A non-servo Robot was assembled, and a device driver was written in C-Language to control the robotic motions.
