An Ode to EverQuest

Shall I compare thee,

To the happiest moment of one’s life?

You would never think it possible of a game to be,

A cause for much love, yet a cause for so much strife.

You last longer than that single instance,

Than that single time,

People play you with persistence,

Until they shout, “Ding!*”, when they hear that chime.

You may not bring quite as much joy,

Or be quite the happiest event,

But you make a great toy,

And when people walk your corridors, they are in suspense.

You are a moment happier, when someone loses their chicken pox,

In fact, the happiest moment of you, is when someone opens that box.
