In 1983, while dreaming of living in a place with a backyard, Frank and I
were looking through dog breed books. We had both grown up with dogs and we
were missing the companionship. In one book was a beautiful picture of a
Clumber Spaniel puppy. It was an instantaneous attraction. I started
researching the breed and started looking for breeders in Canada. It took many months to find a breeder in Canada. We were extremely fortunate to
find one who was actually close to Calgary. We went to their home and we
were placed on their waiting list for a puppy. Almost two years went by,
with unsuccessful results. Because we kept in constant contact with that
person, in late 1985 she mentioned that her friend's dog in the US had just
sired a litter. That was the first contact I had with Jane Bonaccorso of RBD
Kennels.

In 1985 we acquired a pet cocker spaniel puppy which we
named Parker. As you can see by the picture, Parker had
the run of the
house. He lived a long life.

In early 1986 our first Clumber Spaniel arrived from Roseburg, Oregon.
His name was Sasquatch RBD Dust Buster. He was also my first attempt at
showing dogs. Although he was not interested in dog shows, Buster
was our first and of course, our favorite.

In December 1986 we moved from Calgary back to Frank's hometown of
Kinistino, Sask. We lived in a lovely, large, older home in the country.
It was this city girls first taste of country living. When left Calgary,
we also brought with us Lickalot's Amiracle who was 3 years old. We
co-owned her with Kathy Cooper, then of High River, AB. Amira was going to
be the start of our kennel, if we chose, in the future, to breed. In 1988
she was bred to Hank and produced four puppies.

In January 1987, our third Clumber Spaniel arrived, but our second from
Jane in Oregon. His name was RBD Oh Henry of Invergordon. Hank was to be
our dog that we could "Special" I had picked him out at 4 weeks and
watched his progress steadily. Hank didn't disappoint us either. During the four years
he was campaigned, he did extremely well.

In 1988, Hank was used at stud. We were fortunate to bring home
Invergordons Second Chance.

In 1988, Hank was used at stud. He produced lovely puppies for Sue Gariepy in Ontario. We were fortunate to recieve Invergrodon's Star Of Todmor, Peanut from that litter. Peanut was shown only once at our National Specialty in 1996 as a Veteran.

Our third Clumber from Jane arrived March 1990. She was going to be the
foundation to our kennel. Her name was RBD Ginger Snap. She was a beautiful
Clumber girl, light on her feet, full of RBD type. BUT, she was a handful!
We did breed her in late 1991 to Clyde, and she did produce four puppies.

Our fourth Clumber Spaniel from Jane arrived in December 1990. His name
was RBD Al Capone of Invergordon, Clyde to his friends. He was going to be
our next show dog, but it didn't work out that way. He finished in early
1992 with limited showing. He was also our first OFA dog.
Clyde was bred to Lickalots Salish of Bragg owned by June
Warren of
Thunder Bay, Ont, in 1995. We are slowly loosing these puppies in their old age.

Ryan, Invergordon Jest Because was a puppy from Hanna and Scotti that I
kept, just because. He was the one who was always under foot, on my lap,
or chewing my shoes. He loved attention, and really enjoyed going to dog shows with me. I HAD to keep him for no other reason
than...... just because.... He sadly passed away too early.

From June 1992 until early 1998, we did not do very much with our Clumbers.
We mainly concentrated on our Rottweilers which we had added to our home in
1990. These were to be Frank's dogs. It was a way to hopefully get him
involved with showing. However, it didn't work. He didn't like showing
dogs, but he loved his Jessie. (Ch. Lickalot's Peony of Invergordon 1990 -
2002)
