| This poor 15 year old girl had been surfing for 2 hours at an Mtunzini South African beach. She decided to rest on her board for a bit.She was suddenly tossed from her board, and bitten three times in her left leg. She was bleeding profusely, and her friend was anable to tourniquet the wound. He quickly decided to place his finger in the femoral vessel, and staunched the blood flow. This act saved the young girl's life. The attacking shark was identified as a bull shark. Starvation was suspected for the bull's attack (because it tore off flesh to feed). |
