As part of my Advanced Digital Imaging course, I had to come up with a personal logo, business cards, and a letter head. My aim for this project was to create something playful, bold, yet professional. I went through many renditions before I was finally satisfied with logo, even going so far as to work on it after the course was over with. My goal was to create a heart out of my entwined initials. For the rest of the elements, I wanted to incorporate my favorite color, purple. I found cyan paired perfectly with purple, creating that playful tone I was looking for
This was an incredibly fun project. This was the first time I truly got to learn how to use illustrator, and I absolutely loved it. The project involved taking five existing toys and combining them to create a new character. My toys consisted of Minnie Mouse, Frozen’s Elsa, My Little Pony creature, Equestria Girl’s Twilight, and Monster High’s Catty Noir. As I sketched my concept, the name Dizzy came to me, and soon, the phrase “She’s a doozy of a Demon” kept echoing through my head. The reason “demon” is capitalized is due to that being her race/ethnic. Her name was created in Photoshop using the 3d tools.

History courses have always been challenging for me – I can’t help but feel bored. However, when art is included, it catches my interest. For this Art History course, I was tasked with developing a flyer that was inspired by my choice or art period; mine was art nouveau. Using mainly Photoshop, I decided to create a fictional event at a real museum in my area.
This was my first ever attempt at a book cover. I was still very new to illustrator, and I was just introduced to InDesign. I was inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night and wanted my cover to echo his work slightly. Since the author was made up, I decided to place an About the Illustrator instead of a About the Author. The little girl is a cartooned version of myself at a young age, and the bunny was a vote by my girls for what pet she should have.

This was an exercise for a desktop publishing course. The goal was to create a garden magazine by creating a logo and fictitious company, with two or three taglines. This project went through a redesign during my capstone course, with the page size and layout changing drastically. New elements were added, such as barcode, price, issue and date, as well as website and tips tag.
Color Theory was my first foray into graphic design. This project gave me a chance to learn Adobe’s Photoshop and learn about the Principles of Design. This assignment was to take a podcast/radio show, RadioLab, and create a movie poster. Certain elements where to be incorporated, such as the logos, description, channel, website, and title of the show. The eyes are one of my images I took years before. The knife is a found image that I manipulated.

These pencil drawings have remained my favorite over the years. I don't get much opportunity to draw as much as I would like, but every time I see these pieces, I am inspired to pick up a pencil.
