The Last Resort was dedicated more than 10 years ago to be an experimental micro-reserve, and alternative rural-development model, that would sustainably nurture and protect a balanced micro-environment right in the midst of a very harsh macro situation, amongst the farmlands of Hatod village, in the Shivpuri district of the Central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Since then, the site itself has been optimized to the maximum degree possible, as a wildlife corridor to water, with a protected natural-forest area, as well as a segment of farmland with abundant planned tree-plantation.

In the meanwhile however, almost all of the native wildlife (other than vermin and pests) has disappeared from the immediate surrounding area, rendering the experiment almost redundant, even though it is located within a rifle-shot from the Madho National Park on two sides (see sat-view below).

As such, the project has now been sort of thrown open to constructive associations of almost any description, amongst which, the most promising one presently may be with a group of young enviro-activist architects.

To know more about the original focus and history of this project, follow the links at the top of this table (the links at the top of the page will take you off-topic).

And, please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you would like to involve yourself with this in any way.
