Mortal Kombat Another Story
Kanako found herself thinking about herself a lot in the past month while she was with Shang Tsung. She went back to school, just so she could sustain her beauty, not because she really cared about the classes.
"All the things I learn about in school, I know them. I shouldn't, but I know them. If thats the case, I should be first in my class; if I am indeed hundreds of years old, like Shang Tsung suspects." Kanako pushed her noodles around on her plate.
"Is something wrong?" Shang Tsung interrupted her thoughts.
"No....why?"
"Do you not like the noodles?"
"No, I do, but I am still plagued by erm, thoughts of who I am." Kanako told him.
"Well at least its not my noodles. Its a recipe passed on in Chinese households."
"I like the noodles." Kanako told him.
"And I have an answer to what you are searching for." He handed her a small leather bound book.
"What is this?" Kanako opened it.
OUTWORLD HIGH SCHOOL YEAR 1916 the front page was faded, but still legible.
Shang Tsung took it from her and opened it to a different page. Kanako gasped as she saw a girl that looked like her on the page.
The description read "DEADLY KANAKO'S BLADE WILL CUT ANYONE IN TWO"
"That's.....me.....she, me, we are the same." Kanako shook her head.
"There's more...." Shang Tsung flipped another page and there stood another picture of Kanako, with Shao Kahn."
"SCHOOL FIT FOR EMPORER'S DAUGHTER" The caption read.
Kanako's face went pale. "No, no, no, I'm not....." She dropped the book and fell to her knees.
"Tell me its not true!" Kanako buried her face in Shang Tsung's chest.
"What are you so upset about?" He asked her.
"No, I always felt different from people, but not like this.......Shao Kahn??? He's....scary. He's evil, he's...."
"A wuss." Shang Tsung sneered.
"You killed him, didn't you? But he'll be back won't he?" Kanako asked.
"He'll be back, but he hasn't forgotten you, Kanako. He changed since your disappearance."
"Disappearance?"
"I knew about Kanako, his only heir to his throne. She was supposed to be a beauty, skilled at kombat and fierce. I never met her.
Students wanted to be her, be her friend and all because Shao Kahn was your father.
Kanako was rumored to be alone and she disliked everyone around her. She graduated Outworld High and she continued to live.
People wondered why she always stayed so youthful, but she wasn't immortal. Then, years passed by and in 1984 Kanako started showing age. Five years later she disappeared completely.
On the day Kanako disappeared, Shao Kahn searched for her and in his desperate searching, his intentions changed.
Because he couldn't find Kanako he started going mad. When he gave up Kanako for good, he was never the same again."
"So its my fault......that he turned so evil?"
"Well, its not anyone's fault. My guess is you gave up part of your soul to devour the life of others. When doing that, you give up something else, your memories. But youll remember everything else like your knowledge of facts, kombat, and of course, your soul devouring technique."
"Wow.......that's......that's.......great!" A superior smile flashed over Kanako.
"Why the change of heart?"
"I just thought of something, if I was so precious to Shao Kahn, he...if he came back, he would remember me, right?"
"Right.....go on."
"AND if I'm so precious.....he'll be happy......AND even better, he won't deny precious princess Kanako anything! He will do anything I ask and even more so, he wouldn't want revenge on you, because it will hurt dear Kanako......" She smiled and evil smile.
"Of course his evilness won't change, but having him in my debt is never a bad thing." Shang Tsung smiled a crafty smile.
Hey, erm, Shang Tsung.....you told me once that you had other palaces....where are they anyway, are they in Outworld?
Well, I have a palace in the Lost Sea. I own the island, and I have a palace there. Ill take us there sometime on my Nethership.
Ok, after you resurrect the dragon king army, right? she asked.
You know, Kanako, the time is approaching, I almost have the whole mummified army resurrected...when that time comes, Ill take Quan Chis amulet and control the realms, and I want you by my side as my queen.
Kanako was taken aback, she expected this but hearing him say this still made her shocked.
Dammit.... Shang Tsung muttered.
Erm whats wrong? Kanako asked
My Straight Sword is still in the weapons shop.....I got it reforged and still need to pick it up.
Ill go fetch it, I suppose. I dont mind. Kanako smiled at him. She wanted time to herself to think about these events.
It was probably a trace of luck that Kanako left because that night was going to be a night to remember.
Quan Chi had come unexpectedly to warn Shang Tsung that Raiden was coming.
The fight was going to be hard and Raiden was planning to stop both Shang Tsung and Raiden.
Shang Tsung did not fight his best that night; perhaps he was too worried about what would become of Kanako. He was afraid she would walk in and something terrible happen to her.
Because of this he made mistakes in Kombat and he found himself getting beat by Raiden, but eventually he and Quan Chi defeated Raiden.
Quan Chi turned on Shang Tsung like he had anticipated but Shang Tsung wasnt very level headed this time. His mind was distracted and Quan Chi had an upper hand where he shouldnt of.
Quan Chi defeated Shang Tsung and he lie on the ground, not dead, but just out of power temporarily.
To Quan Chis dismay the real dragon king showed up and he desperately tried to stop him. Quan Chi wasnt powerful enough and Shang Tsung got up, rejuvenated from a new soul and he paired up with Quan Chi just to get rid of the dragon king.
Eventually Raiden stood up and helped the two of them out. Things were not looking too well and Raiden sacrificed himself to kill the dragon king. This did not work and killed the three of them. Onaga, the dragon king reclaimed his amulet and left.
At this time Kanako, sword in hand and her naginata on her back, she made her way back to Shang Tsungs Palace.
