RED WINE VARIETIES:

It has come to my knowledge that allot of people don't seem to have any idea about red wines and it comes as a surprise that there is different varieties other than Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Another little bit of information that most people don't seem to know is that the difference between the wines is that they are different variety vine, just like a rose has different varieties so does wine. Here are the major varieties that you would likely see in a bottle shop. There are a few others like Grenache, but there is little out there to warrant talking about them. The most popular wine variety is Shiraz and it is the best to store and as a result the best two red wines in Australia (which have a large price tag on them) happened to be Shiraz.

The wines above are listed in texture, meaning that it moves from top to bottom, where Shiraz is the heaviest in texture and in colour, while Pinot Noir is lighter in texture and colour. All wines are just simply a different variety of grape vine and they are like horses, there are different varieties of them and they have different temperaments just like red wine.
