Blood Collection Evaluation 

Things to think about when being evaluated:

1. Do you have all your materials before getting started?                             
   1. Did you pop the plunger of the syringe?
   2. Did you wet the area with alcohol?
   3. Could you feel the vein?
2. Is the proper restraint of the animal being used?
3. Is the hand placement of the blood collector being preformed properly?
4. Is the beveled part of the needle faced up when entering the vein?
5. Are you confident?

**These are the things I will be evaluating on your performance quiz. I will walk you through the steps if needed. I want you to be able to learn this skill and be able to perform it. Your grade will be based on participation and willingness to perform the techniques properly. If these criteria are met you can receive a score of 50. The highest score possible will be 50.
