OK, we're going to share this page. Because activities are more FUN when shared.
Again, I'm trying to include everyone as much as possible with this new web site. Let's take advantage of the technology and yet not forget the people, our friends and family.
Here's the game plane... What have you done lately?
...that was fun?
...that was helpful to someone else?
...to volunteer your time for a good cause?
Let's get started.
You've all heard of tug-a-war, BUT have you heard of Tug-A-Plane???
September 30, 2000: Along with 19 other fellow employees of ALLTEL, I helped pull a United Parcel Service (UPS) Boeing 757. That's 113,500 pounds of metal pulled with only a rope! This was a competition where each team tried for the fastest time to pull the plane 25 feet. Out of about 20 teams, we came in 6th place with a "tug" time of 17.3 seconds!
Not only was it a lot of fun, but it was for a good cause - the United Way of Atlanta!
Right now I only have this one picture of the entire team. Once my film is developed, we'll have a few more. Check back often!

The picture is rather large (66KB).
A lot of you may recall that I sent out a couple of emails concerning AIDS Walk Atlanta.
October 15, 2000: 2pm, downtown Atlanta, Piedmont Park - Three of my friends and I (along with THOUSANDS of other walkers) started a 10K throught the city of Atlanta to raise funds for the fight against AIDS. The weather cooperately wonderfully and it was fun walking along the streets talking with others.
After all the money was collected and counted, they announced the final dollar amount raised: $1.4 million!!! To those who donated, thank you. With your help, I was able to bring in $560! Again, thank you!
OK, this picture brings back fun memories... of California. The houses along these cliffs are the last houses in the United States to see the sun each day. These houses are on the very edge of California overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I can still hear the water breaking on the rock... at "Sunset Cliffs".
