My name is Shameka, I live in Connecticut with my 4 lb Yorkie,Cinnamon. I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Media. I have been working in design for 14 years. The company I work for is a government-contracted business geared toward technical design and engineering. I have accomplished two associate degrees. My first is in Architectural Design and the second is in Mechanical Engineering. The mechanical engineering degree was accomplished through an apprenticeship program at the company I work for. I have always had a passion for art, and I chose to work in technical design as a compromise to my parents when I graduated high school. I have some knowledge-based experience with lightroom, photoshop, and AI.The idea for Swash came from a project name that was developed because of the meaning in the graphic design and typography world and its double meaning. Swash is a flourish or an exaggerated serif and one of the meanings of flourish is to grow or do well.
