Take Me There
I walk slowly
Savoring each of my senses as I travel silently in the dawn.
Shadow-trees line the pathway before me.
The feel of the cool rounded rocks under my feet,
Urging me onward.

The sky adds its natural lighting to the morning,
Paving the road for late afternoon warmth.

I kneel gently by the soft grass
Reveling in its glistening hues and quiet dreams.
Thousands of tiny glowing souls,
Dancing with the winds of time.

I give into the temptation, and lie down in the field to my left, washed by the rain and dried by the sun.  The freshness evelops me in brilliant shades of yellows and greens.  My eyes close and I am drifting away with the warm breeze.  I hear the tenor cries of a small crow in the distance, growing closer and flying overhead.  With my eyes still closed against the sun, I hear his silent footsteps drawing near me.  I turn to look into his deep black eyes.  What have you come to warn me of, dearest spirit?  He opens his beak, but no sound emerges.  Instead, he walks up and rests in my left hand.  His feathers gleam in the depths and purity of his colors.  The colors of the rainbow echoed in oil, deep purples and blues shining.  My eyes close again, and when they open, he is gone.  I stand and walk back to the path, choosing my steps carefully as the sun warms the pebbles beneath me.  I near the small hill, the high point on my journey.  I take a moment to savor the place where I stand.  The wind picks up around me, and I listen to the leaves and branches as they caress each other in the purest of harmonies.  I raise my hands above me, soaking in the sun through my skin.  The breezes swirl around me in an effortless massage.  I feel the energy as it coarses through me on every level.

And I begin to walk.

I near the hill, and the path begins to widen.  Each step brings fewer pebbles, replaced by purest of white sand.  My toes slide into the sensuous beachfront.  I look around at the lake that has opened before me.  A few more paces brings me to the brink of its beauty, spreading out into every direction, beyond the realms of time.

I run...
I run out into the water and am born again in its love.
