As a good citizen in Habbo Hotel, I like to do my part in protecting innocent habbos from evil scams that con them out of furny, creds, and even more recently- adding money on to their phone bill!
I HAVE been scammed. I know how it feels so I'm going to try to prevent it from happening to you.
So here is a brief list of common scams to watch out for:
1) Do not pay furny for a job. In real life, would YOU pay money to an employer so you can get payed? I think not.
2) If someone tells you to phone 09011 561 561
and enter a code for free credits, ignore it completely. Because the code they give you is their code so you will be buying THEIR credits, and 50p will appear on your phone bill!!
3) If someone tells you to change your e-mail to a certain address ignore them totally. They will enter this address on the FORGOTTEN PASSWORD page and your password will be e-mailed to them and they will hack you.
4) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATEVER, NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE. FULL STOP.
5) If you don't know how to trade, only ask a Hobba or respectful Habbo how to. If you just ask anyone, they will probably trick you into giving them your item and they wont give you their's.
6) Be EXTREMELY CAREFUL if someone asks you to 'lend' them some furny. If you do lend out furny, make sure it is only to a VERY trusted friend or real-life relative or something but really and truly you shouldn't lend out furny at all.
7) So now you know of these scams I have one final word on the subject. DO NOT TRY THESE OUT YOURSELF. If you do, you'll end up getting banned and what you would make out of it would be extremely small so just DONT DO IT!!!
