Hiking

Shalom Lodge features a few hiking trails, ranging in length from 45 minutes to 2 hours. The perfect way to relax after an exhausting day.

The trails channel through suptropical forests and luscious plantations, while featuring brooks, small waterfalls, and spectacular mountain views.

Bring along your binoculars to spot a wide range of birds, including the Crested Gueni-fowl, which, can be found only in the nothern-most parts of the Limpopo province. If you are lucky enough, you might even stumble across some wildlife, such as njalas, bush bucks, bush babies, and even small cats.

Also bring along your camera to phothograph one of the largest bamboo bushes in the world. Estimated to be about 6 stories high, this bush has branches up to 20cm in diameter! It will be an unforgettable sight.
