HOUSEQUEST!
THE LATEST NEWS
CURRENT RELEASE INFO:
V1.2 adds a new screen resolution for the window, and a new full screen resolution. It also fixes a problem with the installer file that would render any shortcuts unusable.
KNOWN BUGS IN CURRENT VERSION:
1) A wrong word in a sentence. When going down the steps from the steps from the kitchen early in the game, the response should read '...hears you and...'.
2) trying to 'move' an item that is currently in your inventory results in an incorrect generic response, you can either ignore it or laugh at it.
3) The copyright info at the top is an old version. The new one is on the site here and in the readme file. They both amount to the same thing, they are just worded differently.
4) Two ideas in the 'have you tried section' may not have been implemented. I keep forgetting to check.

The website has been completly re-designed and updated. Instead of many pages of just text, it is now multiple pages of mostly text! This is a major enhancement.
Seriously though, I put a lot of time into organizing the site so there are smaller bits to read, and it is easier
to find what you're interested in.
Also the hints section has been completly overhauled, including a new java script hint utility
I call 'E-Visiclues'. Designed after the now defunct INFOCOM (sniff) hint books of a similar name, I stumbled through learning
just enough javascript to revise an old hint routine I found on the web into something new and unique. As far as I know, it is the first of it's kind released free for public use.
You can find a link the script on the main homepage for your own use. In actuality, I expect it will be more popular than the game itself.
THE HOUSEQUEST! has ended as of September 26, 2005.
The HOUSEQUEST! contest was extended past it's inital deadline. The email list was flooded with contestants, just hounding at the chance to win.
There was no winner,as no one has submitted the correct answer. That's probably because I was lying about the mass emails, and no one has yet to really play the game.
Though the tremendous lack of publicity has no doubt proven a detriment, It is now confirmed that at least three people have actually sat down and at least looked at the opening screen! This is a tremendous breakthru and I hope the upward trend continues well into the new year.
Thank you (all 3 of you) for the support.
Anyway, you can check out the contest rules here.
WHAT'S NEXT
Coming soon will be the version 3.0, the next (and most likely final) release of HOUSEQUEST!. Included in the update will be an 'ENHANCED MODE' where
players will have the opportunity to view the game in any of 4 different text styles, accompanied by a background picture and music,
both made specifically for the game. Currently the picture is done and the music is in the design process.
