Shakaya Stuff Smash Hits June 2002
- Simone and Naomi decided on the name Shakaya cos it �has a broad range of meanings in a lot of different cultures.� Simone continues, �One that really stood out for us was the native Indian meaning of �voice in the wind�.� Their name was going to be Kashaya.
- Naomi is a Virgo who loves pizza, Rush Hour 2 and describes herself as "friendly, caring and giving". She can't leave home without her lip-gloss and phone, loves horse riding and really wishes she could paint.
- Simone's favourite film is Save The Last Dance. This Sagittarian loves Will Smith and thinks her eyes are her best features. Simone would love to meet Usher and says if she were a cartoon character, she'd be Betty Boop.
- If Shakaya could work with any artist or producer, who would it be? �I�d like to work with Selwyn, just because he�s new and he�s doing his own thing,� says Naomi. �Outside Australia, I�d like to work with Jagged Edge, Janet Jackson and, as a producer, Jermaine Dupri.� |
