Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan S/O Haji Rana Muhammad Nisar Khan was born in Phool Nagar, District Kasur. He did his B.A in the year 1976 and LLB in the year 1981 with distinction and he was awarded degrees by the University of the Punjab, Lahore.

He started his political career from his native city of Phool Nagar, District Kasur in 1990.

He is political successor to his uncle Rana Phool Muhammad Khan and belongs to Rajput family. He won the election of Member of National Assembly as independent candidate with land slide majority, at that time four MNAs were elected independently. Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan was one of them. In the year 1997 he was elected as Member of National Assembly and also Member of Provincial Assembly and defeated the ex Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Muhammad Arif Nakai on his native seat. Presently, he is elected as Zila Nazim Kasur with a large number of votes from the plate form of ARD. He enjoyed the support from majority of the members in the District Assembly Kasur.
