Dream Theater
Dream Theater's debut album, When Dream And Day Unite, was released in 1989, but the band didn't gain much attention until their sophmore effort, Images And Words, which gained large sales thanks to their hit opening track, "Pull Me Under". After the release of their first live album Live at the Marquee, recorded in London, the band released Awake, an excellent album that contains some of their best songs yet. It would be the band's last album with keyboardist Kevin Moore; Derek Shirinian was brought in shortly afterward. The A Change of Seasons EP was released the next year, and after a two-year hiatus, Dream Theater released Falling Into Infinity, an album made "mainstream" by their record label. Their 2nd live album Once in a LIVEtime was released in 1998, and Derek Sherinian left soon after. Jordan Rudess was brought in, and the band released Scenes From A Memory, which is heralded as their best album yet. Live Scenes From New York, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Train of Thought, and Live at Budokan were released within four years. The band's eighth album, Octavarium arrived on June 8th, 2005. This progressive metal outfit has dazzled fans with handfuls of great epics and excellent instrument playing and vocals, and show no signs of slowing down. Discography
