Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF) 2002 AKA the Mud Fest!
TRF is located in Plantersville, near Houston. First they got a hurricane, then lots and lots and lots and lots of rain. It has rained every day of TRF so far this year. We went Nov 2-3, and it was no different.... from a light steady drizzle to an outright downpour! But, there are those of us who love it anyway.....

The court of Avalon didn't seem to be bothered by the wet (or the cold, it stayed in the upper 50s/lower 60's - which is fine as long as you aren't DRENCHED..)
We took friend BJ down for the first time - and promised he that in spite of the cold and wet there would be at LEAST one person there in just a chain-mail bikini (there were 3) and at least one barbarian in nothing but a loincloth and boots... and we won that bet!!!

Our group dressed a bit more for the weather - finally, we all got to wear our cloaks!!! This is BJ, our very own vampyre, along with the ship's swordmaster, Curran (Chris, my Hagrid-like Hubby)

And where do pirates prefer to spend their time? At the Pirate's Treasure, of course! This booth is a work of art in progress, and will eventually be a full-rigged, double masted ship.
