To Kids Poetry Corner
When I was a little girl my mother taught me lots of poetry and I have had a love of poetry since.
I always remember her big Red Book of poetry which was
all carefully and neatly written in her own hand. She could recite
each word off by heart and I thought this was such a wonderful gift.
She taught me that Poetry was fun and learning and understanding poetry
was a gift all of its own. I still have the Red Book and some of these verses
that I share with you came straight out of it, some come from memory and
some are from what my own children are learning.
