---------------
In the distant future, Earth's new found
planetary empire is losing a war with a
consortium of alien races known only as
the Covenant. Alien technology is far more
advanced than that of the humans.
Planets are being destroyed, entire
races are dying, and the Covenant keeps
coming. Soon, they will find Earth.
One of the human's planets, called Reach,
has been discovered by the Covenant, and
its population of 700 million is completely
destroyed. In an attempt to lure the
Covenant away from Earth, a single human
corvette flees the battle and plots a
course for a distant, uncharted system.
Much to the human's surprise, the entire
Covenant fleet follows.
The humans stumble upon an alien
artifact, an enormous ring world, orbiting
between a gas giant and its moon. HALO: a
ring ten thousand kilometers in diameter,
breathe able atmosphere, oceans,
continents, and multiple climatic zones, a
self contained habitat.
The Covenant, not willing to let the
humans flee, destroy the corvette. A
small portion of the crew manage to
escape and land in scattered groups on
the surface of the ring. One marine,
dedicated to humanity, starts a guerilla
war with the Covenant. Halo promises to
break new ground with breath taking
graphics, lush scenery, and a world of
continuous action.
