July 3, 2007 Friday night's race went to crap for several drivers, myself included and I'll miss not being able to race with one of the cleanest racers I know. I'm fed up with the attitudes of some drivers, if they can't race you for the position, they wreck you for it. I have an email from the race director that states one of the two cars involved in a situation on the track friday night is an illegal car and it would not be running in our division. So why was it out there on the track in the first place? In tech, it was pointed out that I have a bent wheel on my car. This is the fourth year for this car to be raced, and do you know what? If it's bent, it's the fault of the track and it's officials for letting the other drivers away with so much beating and pounding on each other. If that kind of racing is allowed to continue then Scotia Speed World will be know for producing a bunch of shitty racers that don't have a clue what clean racing is. Now that's the reputation I want for my home track, not really. I was running late and a message was given to the race director (Rob) that I was going to be late but I would be there. For what ever reason, the other officials did not get the message so I was not put on the line up board for the night and no one in tech was expecting me. The end result was, I started at the back of the second heat. The car was pulling good and with in the frist three laps I gained a few positions. At that point the car's power faded and it was all I could do to just stay with the back of the pack finishing 10th out of 12. With that race over I realized the motor had turned a rod bearing. We topped up the oil and got ready to nurse it through the semi to get what ever points we could for the night. I ran the car in a higher gear than usual to ease the pressure but with 8 laps down, that's all there was. As soon as the motor let go, I dove for the infield but a lot of oil and water got dumped on the track anyway. (sorry for the mess guys) That was the end of the night for us, 16th out of 17. It seems somone else had trouble befor I did, so I wasn't last. June 20,2007 Now that was a better night. Thanks guys for a good night of clean racing! We worked on that car every night for a week and a half to put it back in shape to race again. So it paid off in the end by winning the heat race and finishing 4th in the main. Now lets have a good one again next time. June 3,2007 Well well, what do ya know? The first race is in for 2007. I got to bring home a very twisted race car and last place points. This was also the first time my daughter got to see me race. At one point she turned to her Grandmother and asked, "If dad's car is stopped, why is everyone running into him?" Isn't it funny how a 10yr old, knows that you should avoid a stopped car, but yet older people will try to drive right through it? I know everyone is excited to get back to racing, but is it really worth hurting someone else? I have some bruses on my shoulder from my belts and still have a stiff neck too. I hope everyone figures out what that peddle in the midddle is for before the next race. May 9, 2007 Only 10 days untill race day, and today was the first time I even started the car up since the 100 lap race at the end of last year. I filled the rad, hooked up the battery and turned the key. It fired up just as if it was never left sitting. Lucky for me hey! I guess that means I'm ready to go racing. March 17, 2007 OK! Here is my first comment for 2007. We were told at the meeting in Febuary that the schedule would be posted by the end of the month. SO WHERE IS IT? How are there going to be any races if the racers don't know when to show up? Come on ScotiaSpeedWorld, get your stuff together. Some of us have to plan well ahead in order to be able to attend on raceday, so we need to know the schedule. 2007 STATS Number of races Current points Position Top 5 finish Top 10 finish 3 219 15th 1 1 Best "A"feature Best "B"feature Best heat points out of first 4th 16th 1st 99 May 23, 2006 Media Day at Scotia Speed World. During testing the motor over heated and blew all the coolant out of it. The car was pulling good and handled well up until that point. I thought it was a bad head gasket. I went home and replaced the gasket and got ready to race Friday night. May 26, 2006 Race #1. I started mid pack in the second heat. The #15 of Jason Pickles was kind enough to dump me in turn two were I got jammed against the tires. The flagman, instead of throwing the yelow flag, just waved for me to get going, which I did once I loose from the tires. (Nice call flagman) How ever, I was then at the back of the pack. I regained a few positions before the heat was over, finishing 8th. I truly think the #15 should have been black flagged for his actions. Because of my poor finish in the heat race I had to race the "B" feature. I started 8th in this race. Near the half way point I took the lead and lead the remaining laps to win. The car ran very hot and I realized I had not fixed the cooling problem from Media Day. I was also disapointed to find out the track didn't have trophies for the "B" feature. Winning that race got me a spot in the "A" feature. I started somewhere in the back half of the field. A few laps onto the race the #69 of Charlie Hutton over drove his car into turn four and got himself sideways in the track. I swerved to the right to try and avoid him but hit the left rear of his car. I did not touch him until he was already sideways. For this, I was black flagged and sent for a "stop and go" penalty. Another bad call by the flagman. This put me at the back of the field again. I regained several spots before the race was over, finishing 17th out of 25. LET IT BE KNOWN!!! I paint the scrapes and pound the dents out of my car every week. I don't make more work for myself by beating on other racers and spinning them out. I have never intentionally turned another racer and I don't plan to start now. I race everyone as clean as possable. A lesson Mr. Pickles should learn! And that is something the track officials should already know about me too. June 6, 2006 I recieved an email from Rob Bowness, the race director at Scotia Speed World. He has informed me that the flagman does not make the calls, he himself does. He did apologize for missing the incident where #15 Jason Pickles dumped me in the heat race. He said he was looking at the other end of the track. But he still feels I was responsible for Charlie Hutton #69 spinning out. I did not spin Charlie. Once I saw he lost control of his car I was simply looking for the easiest way to get away from him to protect my own car. Sorry Rob, I still think that was a bad call. Had I slowed down as you suggested, there would have been a big pile up. June 28,2006 Race #2 The june 16th race went well for me. No serious damage to the car and a great increase in points. I finished 5th in the heat race which got me a spot in the feature with out being in the "B". We ran a good race in the feature and took 7th spot. How ever, I have to say i'd like to see the other racers use their heads a little more. I saw a lot of gear get torn up for no reason. I just escaped the wrecks in some cases. COME ON GUYS IT'S RACING NO SMASH UP DERBY!! IF YOU HAVE A COMMENT PLEASE SIGN THE GEST BOOK ON THE FRONT PAGE.
