Purpose

The purpose of this website is to generate more interest in Battletech and Mechwarrior. The various games and products that make up the universe of Battletech reach back to the early 1980s featuring over 100 novels, manuals, rulebooks, magazines, and even a cartoon. The universe is not well known but compares to other universes such as Star Wars, Tolkiens Middle Earth, and even Game of Thrones. Over 30 authors have combined to bring this universe to life and unless new sites are developed the next generation of mechwarriors will never know the universe that is Battletech.

I have given just a brief glimpse into the history that is just one of hunderds of units/groups that have participated in battletech and its various products with the intent to help light a fire of interest for new members and players to the battletech. The site has provided information on the more active games that the community as a whole is still active in and I wanted to ensure that anyone who might have interest in the universe can find one of the battletech products they would be interested in trying and to show older players that the community is still very active, older, but still active.

Design rational

You might wonder why the page looks like it does as I have often done when visiting pages. By nature battletech is filled with bold choices, color schemes, 3 story tall robots called mechs with enough firepower to level a city block in the blink of an eye. Shadow Company is no exception and while we as a whole come from other units we still enjoy the boldness that is the definiton of being a Mechwarrior and piloting one of those majestic machines. Right now we are enjoying using mechs that are completely black with orange tiger stripes and felt our site should match. We opted for simple webpages that were easy to navigate because nobody wants to spend forever on a website.

The Future of the Site

Time is the one thing money can't buy and for this site, there was simply not enough. As Shadow Company grows so will our ability to add new content to the website. I am also seeking illustrations from fans of the franchise who are looking for a place to show off their art work and community driven short stories. As more time is aviable I will be adding new community content and improving the site with a unique design that includes more pages featuring art,stories, and how to get in contact with various gamemasters or units from around the world that play one of the games in the battletech franchise. I am also looking into adding a forums section to the site so everybody can maintain contact here for those that do not use facebook and other social media platforms.
