Disability is something which must be known to the mind, accepted with the heart and enacted in life.In the beautiful Creation of universe,amongst normal, intelligent and extraordinary man kind, a small group of handicapped persons are also born.Centuries went by before they were recognised,identified their diasabilities and redressal/remedial measures were taken up.

Disability Nature is of Two Types

a)Physical Disability : Locomotor,Blind and Deaf & Dumb.

b)Mental Disability : a)Mental retardation,b)Cerebral Palsy,c)Autism,d)Multiple Disability :According to 2001 Censes,our population in India is 102.7 Crores.Out of that 4.01 Crores at 3.16% are mentally disabled!

Being counselled and directed by the National institute for mentally handicapped (NIMH) in 1988,a group of parents with mentally disabled formed a registered association (Pawmencap). They are running and administering projects Mayukha,Manokrushi and Manochetna since 1990. Recently they started upon a new project called Saans for which they are raising funds.
