There is not much know about William Shackleton or Elizabeth Shackleton other than that they are the children of Richard the emigrator and his wife, Mary Unknown. William served under Captian James Bonnell 30 November 1781, Knowlton Township, Sussex (now Warren) County, New Jersey. The Retables for 1774 show a William that listed for 20 acres and 4 cows. This seems to be the only record of William, could he have died during the enlistment? Could Elizabeth have died young? Is there anyone out there that could add to the information for these children? |
