I realize that Paul included many birthdates in his information, but I will not include any dates for those that I do not have a death date for. Times have changed since the 1970's and this is the Internet afterall! Please email me personally for any dates that appeared in the book or the newsletters. Sorry for any inconvience that this may cause.
This newsletter contained news from the editor, letters from the cousins and a lineages page about certain cousins.
News from the Editor
Paul tells of his and Betty's trip to New York to visit with Horace Shackelton, Sr., they were also able to visit with Laura Carey, Horace (Ace) Shackelton, Jr. and his family. Paul also tells of his plans to move to San Antonio, Texas later in the year.

News from the Cousins
Norman Blocksage
wrote that he and his wife, Arla have been called to prepare to go on a mission for the Church and that they have chosen South America, but are not sure if they will be going there. He says that it will be next January before they leave and that they will be gone for a year.

Walter Wintermute (written by Stella Garbus) tells of the two Wintermute reunions. They were attempting to find out where Peter Wintermute, the husband of Rachel Shackelton was buried. They tell where the third Wintermute reunion will be held.

Winnifred Wagner wrote a brief letter

Horace, Jr. Shackelton wrote a nice note telling how they enjoyed their visit with Paul and Betty

Horace Shackelton Sr. wrote that he was still researching

Eleanor Jean Stanczyk wrote that they will be moving soon to Desert Hot Springs, California

Esther C. Shackelton wrote that she will be spending time with her daughter, Winifred soon and that she had a visit with Laurel Snyder a short time ago.

Ruth Shackelton wrote that her husband Earl had a heart attack. An editors note was added that Earl was home and recovering and they had spoken by the telephone on July 7th. They also told that they had contact with Billy Shackelton (page 224 of the book, William Morris an adopted son) He was living in Aurora, Minnesota and has lived there for many years, he is married to a woman named Marilyn and has 6 children (names of the children were not included in the newsletter)

Oscar and Bernice Shackelton wrote that they travelled back to Pittsburg and arrived in one piece

Betty Shackelton Glock wrote a short note telling that she was still researching and was planning a trip to Alaska

John R. Setzer sent in his family charts and a brief note.

Cindy Kay Snyder sent in a photo of Earl Whipple and his daughter Laurel Snyder that was taken at the 1979 Whipple Family Reunion in Lake City, Michigan. She also sent in her family charts.

Esther (Shackelton) St.John wrote that she would be celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary

Delma (Whipple) Gresley wrote that she was planning on returning home to Michigan to live sometime during the next year. She also sent in her family charts.
