News from the Editor Paul tells us of his and his wife, Betty's trip to Florida to visit to with their daughter, Barbara Jean and her family. He also tells of their visit with Bernice and Oscar Shackelton in their new home in Florida. Paul also informs us that the Wisconsin Historical Society has inquired about obtaining all the back issues of the Newsletters.
News from the Cousins Joe Smith writes that he discoved that his grandmothers father was James R. Shackleton and her mother was Jane Aube. James and Jane had four children; Marion Caroline (his grandmother), Benjamin, James Harry and Annie. James Harry married Grace Donahue and wound up in Brooklyn as a banker and something of a socialite...and a father of a large family. Nothing is known about Benjamin, but Annie lived with his grandfather after his grandmothers passing and made outrageously-good ginger snaps. It is also known that both James and Jane were born in England (Yorkshire).
Esther C. Shackelton wrote about the winter in Michigan and also sent in several additions and corrections (which were not included in the newsletter)

Donald W. Rose wrote to subscribe to the newsletter and to tell that he is related through his mother, Florence K. Shackleton and that her father was Joseph Shackleton and that he came to the US around 1890 and married his grandmother, Katherine Lutes about 5 years later. No record can be found of the marriage or naturalization records. Joseph Shackleton (middle initial possibly "K"); b. 25 February 1867, d. 25 February 1933. He is believed to have come from Blackpool, England. His sisters were Martha, Frances, Mary, Florence, and Alyce. Martha married Oates Halstead and lived in Nakomis, Saskatchewan, Canada until the death of Oates in 1936. She then returned to Blackpool and then moved to Colne where she died in January of 1949. Joseph's brothers were John William, Thomas, and James Edward. John William was of Colne, Lancashire, England; b. 1870, d. 12 April 1956. The children of James Edward were: 1. Julia, m. _____ Bogden, living in Montreal, Canada in 1956. Had a son, Frank 2. Frances, m. Ralph _____, lived and died in Regina, Canada 3. Mary, d. Canada 4. Thomas, d. Canada; Had one son, Jack in Montreal 5. Maggie, d. England 6. Joe, d. England 7. Harry, living in England in 1956 8. Frank, living in England in 1956 9. Alice, living in England in 1956 The last known address of John William Shackleton was 3 Wilmore Close, Colne, Lancashire, England. The occupant at that address could give no information about the Shackleton family, but did mention some sort of guild hall in town known as Shackleton Hall.
Earl and Ruth Shackelton sent in new family charts and also some pictures of the Landmeyers (which were not included in the newsletter)
Horace E. Shackelton, Sr. wrote that he was researching further on the Knettles family. He then also sent in the information on the Knettles and said that he would have 2 additional sets that he was willing to sell to any family members who would like a copy. **Does Anyone have the Knettles information that Horace worked on? I would love to obtain a copy of this information! If anyone can help, PLEASE email me!**
Winnifred (Shackelton) Wagner wrote that she was the daughter of Esther Shackelton and that she was looking forward to receiving the newsletter as she wanted to know more about the family of Edna Della (Shackelton) Whipple as she has lost touch with several of her cousins.
