2.i. Stephen Frederick Shackleton
     ii. Benjamin Lee Shackleotn was the second son of Stephen Frederick Shackleton and Lena Chessie Dykstra. b. Private at Nashua, Valley County, Montana; m. Margaret Elinor Burnett; the daughter of Matt and Margaret Simonick Koochevar; b. Private in Buhl, St. Louis County, Minnesota; after the death of her parents when she was four years she was taken into the home of Volney Irwin Burnett and Ella Huddelson Burnett and raised as their own child and took the family name of Burnett.

     i. Ruth Ann, m. Ronald Martin Denniston (son of Rev. Otis and Evalene Denniston); 2 children, Cynthia Lou and Linda Jo

     ii. Janet Lee, m. Virgil LaMar Leatherman (son of Joseph and Marjorie Leatherman); 3 children, Scott Allen, Lori Lee and Julie Lynn

     iii. (Dr.) Benjamin A. m. Jan Colette Hendrickson (daughter of Charles and Vivian Smith Hendrickson); one daughter, Kelly Jo

Arlyne Brown, 69, Arcadia, died at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 1979 at Medicalodge in Pittsburg.
Mrs. Brown was born March 6, 1910 in Harrison County, MO the daughter of William and Mary (Shackelton) Hart. She married Frances M. Brown on July 7, 1928 in Bloomfield, IA. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1968.
Mrs Brown was a member of Moody Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Molly Foster Berry Chapter of the D.A.R. National Association of Retired Federal Employees, American Legion Auxiliary, Home Extension Unit. American Association of Retired Persons and the Crawford County Board of American Red Cross. She was a past president of the Women's Federation Study Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary Lyn) Akers, DeKalb, Ill. and Miss Nancy R. Brown, Arlington, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Rita Myers, Kellerton, Ia. and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church od Arcadia with the Rev's. A.F. Collins and Don Tallent officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Cheney's Chapel in Fort Scott.

Venus Lyons, a member of the Shackleton Newsletters since 1974 died February 12, 1979 at the age of 80.
