Enclosed I am sending you information on your grandfather's family. your great grandfather was a Master Confectioner with a shop on Eglinton St. in Glasgow. There were two sons and four daughters.

They were all well to do and lived in Pollockshelits(?) in Glasgow, we were the poor ones being done out of our father's money (confusing) I never told you my grandmother's was Alice Smith, both came from Shipley, Yorkshire. The story is that our grandfather was the Squire and our grandmother was the gardener's daughter. It was a run away marriage. Alice and Clare were payed singers in Glasgow Cathederal and died in their 30's. The fourth daughter she could not recall, but the families of the two remaining Aunts still live in Glasgow, Scotland. William went to Australia to live.

i. WIlliam Shckleton, b. in Glasgow, Scotland, 19 November 1898; d. 10 July 1863; buried at Innchinen, Lanarkshire, Scotland; married Annie Maculloch Paterson, b. in Glasgow, Scotland, 5 January 1900; d. 20 June 1967; buried with husband. She was the daughter of Andrew and Annie Auld. The children:
a. William Shackleton, b. in Glasgow, Scotland, 10 October 1927; married Margaret Brown in Suterglen, Scotland in 1961; 3 children: Scot, Alison and Joy. All born in Scotland
b. Andrew Shckleton, b. in Preston, Lancashire, England, 12 February 1932; married Joyce Holderness in Preston, England, May 1955; three children, Karen, Lyne and Tracy. All born in England.
