This entire newsletter was about the Abraham Shackleton anf Mary E. Wallace family and their descendants. If you have any questions or addtions to this family please contact me.

Abraham Shackleton was born 29 October 1816 in Yorkshire, England. He was the son of John Shackleton and Sallie Allen, both of Yorkshire. He migrated from Yorkshire to the states in 1842. His parents were woolcombers and weavers. Abraham lived in New York, New Jersey, Mass., Butler County, Ohio and Indiana. He was of Quaker faith. He died 26 July 1891 and is buried in the Quaker Cemetery. According to family stories, Abraham had two brothers who came to the US with him. One settled in the south and the other went west. Abraham married Mary E. Wallace on 30 September 1849. She died 9 November 1870 and is buried in the Quaker Cemetery next to her husband.
