Aligarh, a city of north-central India is situated at south-east of Delhi. It is situated at a distance of about 130 Kms east of Delhi at Delhi-Howrah Railway Grand Trunk route. The latitude is 27° 55'N and logitude is 78° 5'E. Aligarh is well connected to Delhi by rail and road. Aligarh which lies in Uttar Pradesh, is a district administrative headquarter and is also famous for its lock industries. It also has a number of processing plants for agricultural goods. Its native name is Koil or Kol, has ancient Buddhist remains and many historical buildings. Aligarh is the name of a nearby fort. It takes approximately 2 hrs by rail and 3 hrs by road to reach Aligarh from Delhi.
