Episode III
  APPROACHING 「THE ROAD OF OVERPLUS」

--- Why do you construct size 1/60 Perfect Grade (next call PG) into PG style "S" Gundam? For example if you construct RX-178Mk-II, you choose RX-78 then remodel it. We usually choose the similar one, but S Gundam is not similar to any other Gundam, so everyone can think easily that constructing S Gundam is very difficult. So, why you choose that kind of hard and difficult way?

Chan: In a flash watch the S Gundam looks like mixture of RX-78 and Zeta, I can think that it is difficult but I can challenge, no I want to Challenge to construct the S Gundam.

--- Which parts do you start to construct at first?

Chan: I first started with the Core Fighter. This is where the proportion of S Gundam comes from. Next part is the chest. This is most important part that control total balance of S Gundam. This process had caused me a lot of troubles. I spent a lot of time working on it, since this is the most difficult process.

--- In Japan, the modelers, who modify a Gundam, usually makes from the appearance first (Outside in). But the way I see your S Gundam (From the continuation of the photographs you gave me) is build from inside out, similar to building a motorbike method .This method that you do starting from inside unit on the basis of structure, then and make a frame, then attached outside armor.

Chan: Well Is that so? I am not aware myself. This is a method which comes naturally within me.

--- I can totally understand. Well so what material did you use to make S Gundam?

Chan: I used common material mainly such as plastic board for armor, PG Gundam and PG Z Gundam for the frame. Even though the materials are almost exactly in different shape from S Gundam, The method of the division of a part minded very much.

--- I think that it was not necessary to do such a troublesome method if you wanted S Gundam of this size(1/60).Why do you use this method to build PG from zero to complete ?

Chan: Yes you are totally correct, this is really a very difficult method; way to make it. (Smile) However, it will be meaningless if the S Gundam is only looking big. Also the mechanical designer Mr.KATOKI HAJIME, He had put lots of focus onto the internal mechanic design. So, I do not want change his plot. I want to make model which was near to the real S Gundam which was faithful to an original design. So, not only the size that is important. I want to build this model with the construction that is the same as the PG style.

--- There is garage kit of Gundam in Hong Kong, and it is such a big

Chan: (Loud laughter) It is also great! But it is not S Gundam I want to have.
