EUROPEAN HISTORY SINCE THE 1500S TO THE PRESENT

INTRODUCTION:This course explores the major themes in Western Civilization since the 1500s to the present. The class focuses on the major historical events as such as the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars, Rise of Constitutionalism in the Great Britain, unification and rise of Germany, WWI, WWII, Russia and the Communist Revolution, the Cold War in Europe, and the Rise of EU and Globalization.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:At the end of the semester, you should be able to recognize the major periods, figures and issues of European History.

GRADING:
Attendance---------------5%
Mid-Term Exam------------45%
Final Exam---------------50%
The gradings depend on your attendance, mid-term exam, and final exam. You are required to come to class.
