| At the end of the reception, when it was time to say good-bye and I hugged David, we didn't say much at all'we both just stood there and hugged each other. That hug meant the world to me, similar to the one before I got to the church steps! Dave has shown me that no matter what life thows at you, your true friends will always stand by you! Then when I hugged mum whilst "Ever Lasting Love" was playing, I thought I had been doing really welll, you know not crying too much, but when I hugged mum I just started to cry - thank you to the person who invented water proof mascara! So Brad and I moved down to Canberra, a few days after the wedding. We had no furniture except wedding presents, a fridge, washing machine, a mattress and some other random items that Brad and I both had at home. The first month of married life I really cant say much on as Brad spent the time up in Singleton. I must say, I was miserable when he was away. I was homesick abd Bradsick! Not only was I living in a new house, but I didnt know anyone down here, we didnt have a car - not like that would have helped me then, the public transport down here isnt crash hot, and the defence stuffed up Brads pay. Thanks to Ellen and Ron finishing me off on my L's, I finally managed to get my P's this year! But being the loving sister that I am, I couldnt let my little brother get his P's before me!!! So with the support of Brad, Ellen and Ron, I went for m P's the day before Sean did!!! We both passed!!! I managed to get a job with ESS down here in March with the help of Rach, my next door neighbour, then I started at Rydges. I wasnt at Rydges for long, only about 4 mths, but it helped pay the bills. Currentlu I am still working with ESS when they need me for function work. But most of my time when I'm not studying Hospitality Management at CIT, I am either working up at "Rise Dining" perviously known as "The Tower Restaurant", and at Rivers - The retail chain! Brad and I also brought our first car this year on June 6th! A little Daewoo Nubira CDX series! We also introduced a furry creature, known as Sooty into our family this year too! Sooty is a Labrador cross Blue Heeler and was born on June 6th! This year has been a long one, but it has turned out alright in the end! Brad has gained a Commandants Academic Commondation, which he has worked extremely hard for with marks of HDs, Ds, and Credits! CIT has been pretty good this year, still waiting for some of my marks, but so far I have gained 3 Distinctions (Highest mark possible at CIT this year), a credit and heaps of ungraded passes... still waiting for more results! It has taken me awhile to settle down here in Canberra, as a lot of you know I hate change. but I am making some wonderful friends down here, and starting to realise who I really want to be and where I want me life to take me! This past year has had its fair share of emotions for all. One of the hardest things for me to do this year, whilst reflecting on the past year, was to leave my bedroom at Bevo. I dont know why I found this so hard but it was. I use to think it was because I finally got it how I liked it, but I know that it is much deeper than that. Looking back on this year, it has helped me realise that throughout life you shall be thrown many challenges, but it is how you look at these challenges that allows you to get the most out of them! |
