| Omicron Phi Chapter was chartered at the Northeast Region Area I Meeting by the Northeast Regional Syntaktes, Soror Inez Vanable. The ceremony was conducted on September 11, 1999 in McDowell Hall at American University. Soror Clarybel Peguero was the advisor to the charter group and guided the intake process. | Since Omicron Phi's chartering, Sigma Gamma Rho has made a presence at the University. The ladies have been involved in many community service projects, including the Annual Sleep Out for the Homeless, Operation BigBookBag and a fundraiser for the Rejesta V. Perry Birthright Program. The Sorors have also been active on campus participating in a variety of clubs and organizations. | ||||||||||||||
