Midway Station is placed right at the center of the tunnel, hence its name, where the Pegasus network ends and the Milky Way network begins.
Originally a cold structure of trinium and naquadah holding the midway Stargates, Midway Station was further developped as a true outpost of the Tauri in unclaimed space. Three years into its construction, it was ready to receive its first commander and a squeleton crew that was to finish it in the next few years. Its duties are to regulate traffic through the bridge, ensure that no hostiles make their way from either side to the other and provide a safe halfway point and trade outpost between the two galaxies.
