EXPLORER RULES &
REGULATIONS

complete list of rules & regulations, please refer to the Explorer
Manual for further explanations.*
EXPLORER DRESS
SHIRT French Blue Rural/Metro
Explorers uniform shirt with patch affixed to left
sleeve. White crew style t-shirt with no
printing. PATCHES Rural/Metro Explorer patch sewn
1" below top shoulder seam of left sleeve.
COAT Any dark single colored jacket or
coat. PANTS Properly fit dark blue dress pants,
EMS style is preferred but not mandatory BELT
Black belt, any style. SHOES/BOOTS Any black boot
or shoe that can be polished. No open toed footwear
allowed. SOCKS Black socks. White socks are
allowed if you wear a tall boot so that they are not visible. OPTIONAL
ITEMS Dark blue military style
sweater. Any items needed to keep warm in colder
weather.
EXPLORER APPEARANCE & GROOMING
UNIFORM The Explorer uniform
shall be kept clean and pressed. FACIAL HAIR A
mustache is allowed and sideburns are not to extend below the middle of
the ear.
A beard or goatee is prohibited.
*This
is for safety reasons. HAIR Males: kept short and
clean. Hair is not to touch the collar and is to be kept off of the
ears. Females: Hair is to be kept clean and well
groomed. Longer hair should be worn up and
secured. JEWELRY A watch may be worn on the
wrist. If married, a wedding band may be worn.
Dangling earrings and
necklaces are prohibited as they may be pulled on causing
injury. HYGIENE All Explorers shall practice
proper hygiene standards prior to any duty.
RIDE TIMES Explorers are
required to ride a minimum of 6 hrs/month with no
maximum. Explorers under the age of 18 will not be
allowed to ride after 2200 hrs. (Curfew Laws) |
