My Education (thus far) :

For as long as I can remember, I have had a strong interest in the arts; A love of color and texture. I thought I wanted to be a painter, but somehow I knew that I could fail at selling any of my works and be the very picture of the starving artist. I didn't want that. Then, one summer my family began to make renovations on our house and I helped them plan and decorate the spaces when they had been finished. I loved it. I was hooked. This is what I wanted to do with my life. So, since sixth grade, I have wanted to go into Interior Design, and even began college searching in eighth grade.

So, here I am some years later, in a college classroom, going for my Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies and getting a certificate in Interior Design. Why liberal studies, you may ask? Well, I started out here at Bay Path College as a Business major, but found that my artful mind couldn't work on the mathematical and dry level of the business classes I had needed to take in order to get my degree. I also didn't want to be far from home, which is why I chose Bay Path over the art schools that were states away from home. It really has worked out thus far. If you want to see more about my experience at Bay Path, click here!

In the near future, as a Junior in my studies, I intend on graduating from here and then trying to figure out my life a little. I want to see if I can get a job in the field shortly after I finish, even if it is just as a researcher for fabrics etc. I also intend on moving out of my family home, and in with my boyfriend. (We've already been dating for years.) If the job in the field doesn't quite work out, I plan on going for my Masters degree from SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), which is a school I have been looking at since I first began my search. Luckily, I have family in Georgia that I could quite possibly move in with while I continue my studies. Ultimately, what I want to do with the Interior Design is work residentially with the people that couldn't normally afford a designer. I want to help the low income families that could use a person to come in and brighten up their space, and to change traffic patterns and storage options for the families to make their lives a little bit easier.

In my studies, I have found interesting things linking the psychological world and the world of Interior Design. To see my finding on the psychological effects of scent (aromatherapy) and how it can effect Interior Design, please click here!

This is our sweet president at our college. She gets to know every student that comes here.
She always talks about our school.
Even though it can be a little intimadating to come to a new school, it's like the girls become family.
And there is so much to do with them too!
Sure the rooms can be small, but you make them like your home.
There are even the conveniences of home!
