Life Goal: To get married and have many kids, which means that I first need to find a man.
Weight Goal: 122 pounds, I would LOVE to get down to a size 6 or smaller. I want to become fit and one of those people who loves to workout (I enjoy it, but sometimes I enjoy other things more).
Biggest Surprise: Well, I was aware of all the food restrictions before the surgery, but I wasn't REALLY aware. I never thought that I would become one of those people that looked at the Nutrition Facts on EVERYTHING. Nor did I think I would be one of those people that was obsessed about carbs. Finally, I didn't realize how hard it would be to get enough protein and water in each day.
Biggest Fear Pre-Op: The surgery wouldn't work for me.
Biggest Fear Post-Op: I won't get down to my goal weight AND/OR I'll gain the weight back. Also, my weight wasn't the only reason I don't have a boyfriend.

Trick or Treaters: This year, I'm going to the Texas Renaissnce Festival on Halloween w/ my friends, so I won't be home to pass out candy. However, if I were, I would probably buy whatever is cheap but good. I always hated it when people gave healthy stuff on Halloween.
Left Out?: My best friend is a great cook, and I spend a lot of time at her place on the weekends. I never feel left out. She always goes out of her way to make sure there is something I can eat. She even keeps Splenda at her house just for me and makes unsweetened tea for me. With my family, I don't feel left out either. Instead of spending the time eating, I have more time to talk. I just sit there and watch them eat and talk to them.
Holiday Dishes: Well, I used to be the one to make the desserts, queso, gravy, and Chex Mix. Now, anything that I make will be something that I can eat.

POSTED ON TMB:
What were you doing when you received the news........
Whether you recieved your approval via fax, phone, e-mail or letter.. LOL what were you doing at the exact moment you found out your surgery was approved....
Casey
MY RESPONSE:
Well, I was in class when Amanda first called my cell phone. Between classes, I checked my messages, and there was one from Amanda saying to call her back. I was soooooo nervous b/c I just knew she was calling to give me the news, and I DESPERATELY wanted to be approved. I was sitting in the resource room working on a project when I called her back. She very calmly, and unemotionally, informed me that I was approved. I was ECSTATIC but trying to not show it b/c there were a lot of other students around me. As soon as I got off the phone with Amanda, I called my mom to give her the news. Needless to say, I had trouble concentrating on my project and my other classes that day.
