Seryphina
Collies has a very brief history. I grew up with a Rough
Collie and for my 14th birthday, I got
Our
Royal Lady, otherwise
known as Petra.
At her and my first show we won a strong puppy bitch
class and I was hooked!!! Petra and I had a few class
wins, but I soon learned despite her qualities of sound
conformation and movement, she was not a collie that
could be competitive in the show-ring.
In Winter 1999, Riona,
Joshren Ryiasha of Seryphina came to us. Riona's
wins include a RBPIS at an international show, 2 Green
Stars, 5 Reserve Green Stars and she was Top Winning
Puppy in 2000.Unfortunately Riona was never in coat at
the right time, so has been campaigned very little as an
adult and unfortunately, has never managed to produce a
litter.
Fast-forward to January 2005 and we welcomed the
crazy, mad little girl that is Wicani Touch of Elegance
at Seryphina. Ella will hit the rings in June 2005 and
we have high hope and is hopefully our "real
start". |

This adventure
started eight years ago, when I was fourteen years old,
since then I've read everything I can my hands on and
probably driven more than one person mad with my
incessant questions and enthusiasm for learning all that
I possibly can about collies, breeding, showing and my
personal areas of interest, health, genetics and
nutrition. Being a student and showing dogs are
necessarily two endeavours that go well together,
however I muddle along.
Joshren Ryiasha's failure to produce a litter left me in
the position of being able to search for a suitable
foundation with a stronger notion of what I wanted- I
finally got my blue merle bitch! Wicani Touch of
Elegance has both captured my heart with her wonderful
personality as well as defining the type of collie I
want to produce
For the foreseeable future I intend to focus on
producing a blue/tri line with construction, colour,
shape, elegance, correct head type (long, lean, clean
cheeks and balance) and overall balance to produce
elegant refined collies.
Health and temperament are extremely important aspects
of any breeding program. All breeding stock will be
hip-scored and puppies will be eye-tested.
The story is
just beginning...
