Palia's Description
A small lady, roughly around 5'2 1/2" inches, she may or may not grow taller than that. She is slim and shapely. Palia is starting to get more curvaceous, her body changing as she gets older. She has golden-red, strawberry blond hair that tumbles down her back in cascading curls. Her hair is confined by a simple leather tie, in a low pony to help contain the loose curls.
Her face is like the rest of her, small and finely boned. Slim eyebrows, the same color of her hair, arch over round, wide eyes. Her eyes are a simple green color, not jade, not emerald, just a deep green, similar to the shade of grass. Her face is slim, high cheek bones prominent. Her lips are innocently sensual and coral tinted. A small stubborn chin, protrudes giving her a bit of a pouty attitude.
These are some of the clothes Palia wears
She wears a simple dress, burgundy red wool, cut low in a V across her her torso. The bodice cinches in to her small waist, gold threads intertwining upon the wool in a small pattern. The soft folds of the dress skirt fall softly to her ankles. Upon her feet are black slipper shoes. On her waist she carries a little tan pouch. Upon her shoulder is a brown and black residents knot of Fort Weyr
Early History Credit Palia's Personality Inspiration
Sex: Male Bronze Firelizard Name Inspiration for Skydancer Skydancer was the name of a Rainbow-hair Pegasus pony, a "My Little Pony", I had received long ago as a little girl. I still have that pony, with its golden body, rainbow hued hair and the little birds winging their way in the sky, painted on the posterior flanks of the Pegasus. Although Skydancer's description looks nothing like the pony, I have a habit of naming my firelizards after My Little Ponies. KEIRATH SEX: Male Blue Dragon Deceptive in its simplicity, this smallish egg tilts toward its nearest clutchmates, shimmering coils of effervescence enfolding the smooth flow of its diminutive form. Though alabaster whirls in subtle patterns throughout the draping, diamond dust alights upon the entirety of this shell, blanketing the entire ovoid in a coat of silvery star fire sparkles. Icy cornflower marks those places where feathery brushstrokes have imparted pastel hue to the shimmery canvas, dissolving into molten rainbows of blush-soft rose and luminous hints of dawning sun. The caressing fingertips of light stroke along its curves, yet cannot pierce the veil of shrouded mystery that rests, concealed, beneath its muted display of breathless coloring. Below the shadowy twists of softened fabric there is something, a spirit or a presence that never is -quite- made known: The delicate-seeming ovoid holding lost secrets and unfulfilled wishes all its own. Egg Description Credit This egg was described by Valeda and is based upon the silver Cloak of Invisibility that Harry Potter receives as a gift from an anonymous donor in his first Christmas at Hogswart. Harry especially cherishes the cloak as it was given to him (as he later finds out) by Dumbledore, who had it in safekeeping at the request of Harry Potter's father. (I was enormously pleased to know Valeda's egg was used for my Keirath!) The Shimmer of Invisible Wishes Egg seems to ripple as it's cracked shell pushes outward, convex sides expanding like a breath of air sucked inwards. Suddenly, the cloak of invisibility is thrown outwards, silvery shards shattering all around to throw its inhabitant out onto the sands. Impression Messages Finally, when it seems that surely the Lightning and Twilight Hatchling will wander lost without a lifemate forever, he stops right in front of a girl. The person's brilliant reddish gold curls draw him like a moth to flame, simple green eyes beckoning him to look up into a finely boned face. (This got me quite a few player pages as there were two redheads on the sands!) Name Inspiration for Keirath The dragon's name is the sole fault of Jalis. She went looking for a Gaelic word that meant 'twilight' since those of Gaelic origin credited the twilight with much importance. The word: keeiragh was discovered and transformed into your dragon's name: Keirath (Keear-ath). Keirath's Mindvoice Keirath's Temperament Keirath doesn't seem to be the adventurous type, at first. In those first few weeks he's content to be fed, bathed, scratched and oiled, happy to have you by his side and to have your constant attention and affection, affection wholeheartedly returned. However, gradually, the dreamy desire for a bit of adventure crops up. First you'll hear, << Palia, I am heartily tired of these barracks. All these rock walls look the same. That's the exact same oil tub you oiled me at last night, and that is the same trough you got the meat from just this morning! Isn't there anything else out there beyond? >> Of course, you'll go out in the training field, but that won't be enough. He'll want to explore, to see the feeding pens at the end of the bowl, to go over to the living caverns - hey, he'll even try to sneak in, though you'll likely hear words about that from the Weyrlingmaster AND the Headwoman if he manages it. Temper and Mindvoice Credit The temper was written by Jalis and based on Harry Potter. She paid special attention to his abilities as a seeker! Peter and the Wolf inspired the mind voice, strangely enough. Jalis's player just couldn't get that music out of her head. The violin and clarinet are his main voice, and those other instruments tend to 'join in' when the occasion merits though they'll fade out when the emotion is no longer prevalent. Keirath's Leather Straps Pictures too BIG to fit anywhere else. These are two tongue twisters from one of my favorite movies', "The Court Jester" (1957).
Five foot two inches, plus that half-inch she is so proud of, is covered. She is not visible at all beneath her fighting leathers. A large thick jacket made of tough wherhide, lined with warm wool that can be seen just a bit under the leather, keeps her warm for betweening. It is belted and buckled tightly closed nothing visible beneath that brown leather. The badge of Fort Weyr is sewn on the upper shoulder of that jacket. The top of the jacket has been pulled up around her face, burying it save for thick goggles that make her look anonymous beyond their clear depths. Over the goggles a metal riding helmet covers her head to protect from thread landing on her head. Thick, leather gloves protect her hands, a little discoloration on the palms of the leather, from firestone chalk. Around her waist, a thick riding belt with small buckles for the safety straps is belted. Thick wherhide chaps, pants specifically meant for riding in thread, cover her legs, a little stiff and puffy from the inner lining. Wherhide boots complete this, manning her against any touch of thread in the skies of Pern. The outfit holds anonymity, the lady beneath not visible at all beneath the full-length leathers or hide that no one looks good in.
She is adorned in a cream ivory shirt, long-sleeved, buttoned up demurely and pressed neatly with no wrinkles. Over that is a soft beige vest, that accents the simple green of her eyes, and also draws attention to her slim waist. Riding pants of a warm green cloth hug her legs, showing off feminine curves on her small frame. The pants disappear mid-calf into brown leather hide-boots that have been sewn to look pretty as well as practical for daily usage. On her shoulder is the proud knot of black and brown fort colors, a wing-rider loop with a strand of blue representing her lifemate.
She wears a warm jacket, made of tanned, butter-soft leather during sweeps and drills. A badge with the fort emblem, the black castle on the brown background is sewn with meticulous care upon the left shoulder and right shoulder. She also has a pair of tanned leather riding gloves, suitable for holding on during flight.
Description Inspiration
When I created Palia I had just seen Ten Things I Hate About You for I think the thirtieth time. I really adored Julia Stiles in that movie, although I had way too many blond haired, blue-eyed Characters already. So instead I forged ahead with a preset description Valeda had for her family members and altered it slightly. Puberty gave flaxen hair a reddish-gold tinge and since Valeda had moss green eyes, I added in simple deep grass green for Palia. Her facial structure and hair type resemble Julia Stiles.
Palia's History
Palia, was a good child. Growing up in her large family she was the last of three girls. She did as she was told always striving to please her mother and father, which earned her the disrespect of her sister Valeda. Palia's family thought Valeda was "different" due to the fact she did things to please herself rather than the parents. Palia never thought things would change. And then her sister Valeda went away. Palia was upset by her disappearance, because of all the children, Palia admired Valeda for her independence most of all. Since she was five she had suffered through her mother's vicious "sewing" lessons and although she liked to gossip with her friends, she was afraid of growing up and becoming...her mother and Valeda was not. She missed her sister but did not know where she was to write to her. Desperation finally hit when she was fifteen years old. Her sister had left two years earlier, leaving behind a betrothal contract to a lord holder. Her mother and father attempted to drop Valeda's betrothal contract onto her shoulders. She didn't want to marry the man Marek, and so she chose to defy her parents for the first time in
her life. She schemed!
At first she wasn't sure what to do until the day she found a letter from Valeda telling her parents of her candidacy at Fort Weyr. Palia was very angry her parents didn't tell anyone that Valeda had written. So the first plots of a plan began to form in her head. She would simply go and convince Valeda to come back to Lemos. The problem was her parents. They would never willingly send her away. So the great SCHEME took effect. Only being fifteen there was only one way she knew how to defy her parents. She let them catch her "kissing" a beastcraft apprentice from the cotholds around
Lemos. Shocked and scandalized by their daughter's action they didn't know what to do. Palia told them she'd run away with "Jared" unless they let her go see Valeda at Fort Weyr. Willing to compromise to get her away from "that boy" they sent her to Fort Weyr on a "visit" to Valeda. Palia's intent was to never come back.
However, upon arriving to Fort Weyr, she found out candidates could not leave until hatching was over and if impressed, not for two turns after. Still, she had hoped to stick around, but it was not to be. Her parents apparently found out from Jared that she had paid him 1/2 a mark to pretend to kiss her. Hot on her heels they came to the weyr, ignoring Valeda but taking with them their last daughter who found a husband in marriage. Palia was lucky however. Old Marek, as she called him, died of natural causes less than an hour after their marriage. Without thinking, she left the ceremony and had a rider take her between to Fort Weyr. She arrived in time, and in style in her wedding dress, for Fort Weyr's hatching at which she saw her sister Valeda impress to green Zulieth.
Her impoliteness in leaving her dead husband less than an hour after they were married would not go without recourse. Her parents sent her a letter stating it was best she did not come home for a while because of the shame to the family it brought. This suited Palia fine, gaining her independence through this action. However she's still very much her mother's daughter. Proper and prim, she's not able to let herself do anything very wild. The first wild thing she everdid was get away from her parents the first time with her schemes.
At Fort Weyr she took on the position of an apprentice baker. One of the things she had enjoyed in her lessons to become a proper lady, had been the running of the kitchens. Determined to stick with something she liked, Palia chose this craft to attune her talent. She moved quickly to a senior apprentice status, happily on her way to a journeyman rank with only one little downfall. Of all the foods on Pern, it would be the one Fort Weyr is famous for, that Palia for some reason is unable to cook properly. Still she tried every day to make the perfect stew and perhaps someday she'll get the recipe right.
Palia has made very good friends with several people in the weyr. The most important to her are her sister Valeda, her best friend Prsym, and a rider named D'rien who rides blue Falnerith. D'rien became more than just a friend, as Palia's feelings for him deepened over time, from first a small crush to a blossoming love for the mature man. Another very good friend comes in the form of a pet, bronze firelizard Skydancer. He made his intentions clear the night he bit her hand at his hatching in an attempt to eat the food she was cleaning from the floor. She has raised him to be a gentlemanly bronze, training him to respond to whistles from her and to behave in a befitting manner.
Palia had almost attained her journeyman knot, when D'rien gave her a surprise. Falnerith was highly upset the night of a special dance and would not calm down until Palia came out to see him. The blue asked Palia to stand on the sands for Fort Weyr's clutch, Palia's second since coming to the weyr. Gold Rhiannoth had been flown by bronze Rausnath and their eggs were waiting for candidates to be called. Palia agreed, mostly amused this blue would choose her because of how fussy and neat she was. While supportive of those who rode dragons she was amazed that D'rien and her sister could even "clean up" after such large beasts.
Still she went through candidacy with her best friend Prysm, and she found it a challenge. Not believing she'd impress, she continued to study at nighttime in the kitchens for her journeyman baker knot. Through the days of candidacy she toiled with first her chores, and then her studies. Not too quickly came the day of hatching and Palia's final hope she'd be free from chores and able to continue her studies as a baker.
It was a tiring day, long and hard. The moment the dragons began to hum, Palia had to force herself out of her cot to change and get ready to stand. Once on Fort Weyr's hatching sands she found herself in an uncomfortable heat that caused her to sweat, mortifying her ladylike sensibilities in front of those who came to watch. Just as she was fanning herself to try and stave off some of the heat, Inimitable Endurance Blue Hatchling that had hatched from the Shimmers of Invisible Wishes Egg, looked up into her green eyes. A mind touched hers, an impression made.
Finally, when it seems that surely the Lightning and Twilight Hatchling will wander lost without a lifemate forever, he stops right in front of a girl. The person's brilliant reddish gold curls draw him like a moth to flame, simple green eyes beckoning him to look up into a finely boned face.
<< Palia? Palia! >> The lightning and twilight hatchling desperately tries to get your attention. Gleeful once he does, the warmth of his voice envelops you,<< Palia, it is Keirath! I made it! You weren't waiting long, were you? >>
Blue Keirath touched her that day, drawing her to him with a love and a joy that surpasses anything she has ever known. She has someone who will encourage her to be brave no matter what, someone to push her to be adventurous even if it goes against convention. It is an awesome thing, one at first that left her breathless and with a lifemate on the sands.
Reality always sets in; that reality being weyrlinghood. Alongside Prysm who found a lifemate in green Althiath, K'rain who was chosen by green Gynraeth, L'gan who found brown Padriuth, Avila and green Elaesyth, Shoshana and green Mioneth, Vasuri and blue Rynweth, and finally I'lani and bronze Hasarth, she participated in a daily torture ritual by Weyrlingmaster Yilisa rider of green Maeveth. Keirath had found a great companion in Rynweth, and is secretly admired by Gynraeth. He only has eyes for Palia as the two begin their new life together at Fort Weyr.
After several months of weyrlinghood in which Keirath scared the living daylights out of Palia several times, the two finally graduated. It was tough, Palia was a lady and lady simply didn't "do" outdoorsy type things like throwing firestone or packing it. She earned several sore muscles after falling underneath these sacks. She also had a snowball fight with D'rien, L'gan and K'rain. But perhaps the most defining moment in her training was when Keirath decided he didn't need anyone to teach him to fly. The blue took to Fort Weyr's skies before he was supposed to. Yilisa, the werylingmaster had said, "You can explore the bowl when you can fly and you can fly when I say you can." Of course, dragon logic took this as in that same sentence she said "you can" so he could fly. Palia didn't understand it. What she does know is that her blue started flying on his own one afternoon and she got into big trouble for it. She took the punishment although she will admit with some pride her blue is very smart to figure out flying on his own. Instinct? She'll just deny that.
At the graduation ceremony, Palia and Keirath cheered for their friends. When it was her turn to be called, she found herself accepting the badge of the Weyrleader's wing, the Storm Wing at Fort Weyr. She and her best friend Prysm both made it to J'van's wing. After graduating, Palia picked Prysm up in a gigantic hug and swung her around, she was so happy. Now, nervousness and excitement set in for Palia. As a full fledged rider she'll be responsible for the safety of Pern. This doesn't bother her as much as something else. The dragons will mature soon, especially the females. Keirath will chase them, dragging Palia along with in his thoughts. She was anxious about that, having wanted to take her time regarding sex. But it was not to be and so it was with some trepidation she made plans, her intention to seduce the man she's loved, the man she'll always love. D'rien.
It happened one afternoon, Palia sent a scroll to D'rien asking him to meet her at their favorite spot. It was there she told him she loved him and it was there the two finally fulfilled their relationship to every extent. During their time together, a storm broke over the Keroon Plains. Keirath and Falnerith shielded them from the worst of the rain as they found new heights to their love.
One day Palia went into the caverns of Fort Weyr, and in the middle of her dinner, she found herself caught between wanting Yilisa, her previous weyrlingmaster and the rider of a proddy green Maeveth and a jealousy becuase D'rien wanted her too. D'rien offered her wine to make it better but she declined, thinking she'd be fine as Keirath chased the green. Keirath lost, but it was Falnerith who won and Palia was caught in the crossfire of Keirath's disappointment and her own jealousy at D'rien and Yilisa. This would backfire on her a week later when she went to get an afternoon snack only to find this time Gynraeth, that little green who followed Keirath around with idol worship was glowing. This time, Keirath was determined to win his fair little groupie's first flight. Palia sensed his high passions and immediately went for the wine skin abandoning dinner. She got a little tipsy as the dragons flew, even going so far as to tell L'gan, rider of brown Padriuth "You.. Me... Later." She never did explain what later meant, but she has a score to settle with him, over her best friend Prysm's heartbreak. Keirath, overhead weaved in and out of the other dragons and it wasn't until Gynraeth dodged two other dragons only to collide with his blue form, that the two forged a true mating bond of love. Palia and K'rain were left alone in the guest weyr, D'rien leaving immediately as she did the night he and Yilisa were together, and E'ner, K'rain's love leaving only after spelling out his disbelief at who caught Gynraeth. Palia and K'rain grew a little closer if somewhat awkwardly about it.
Keirath would have been content to cuddle with Gynraeth all day but it was not to be. Palia having recovered from the night before with K'rain, feeling a bit mystified that he left the guest weyr so quickly and thinking she must have done something wrong, went home and found solace in the arms of D'rien. She fell asleep and was nearly late to miss their first threadfall to fly. She and Keirath showed up on time and followed the Storm Wing over Fort Hold to fly against the deadly silver strands. Keirath was hurt on his left flank due to the negligence of another green rider, G'rol. Palia doesn't blame him although she's not likely to forgive her dragon's hurt however minor it was. She tends to the blue with care even as they continue to fight and fly.
Life was going good. Palia's days started to blend together one after another, fighting thread, loving D'rien and going to gathers. Gathers she found the most fun at and even impressed a little brown, Applejack, at a gather in Monaco. It was at the same gather she was introduced to her friend L'tral's brother S'renn. L'tral the Monaco Weyrlingmaster was quite proud of his little brother who had just graduated from weyrlinghood with brown Onareth. Palia enjoyed his company through the gather, since D'rien wasn't feeling well, and even showed the recently graduated weyrling how to "high-step".
After the gather D'rien's illness worsened and instead of going to see a healer as he should have, the Wingleader chose instead to let himself get so sick he was found unconscious in a cavern inside Fort Weyr. Falnerith was beside himself with worry and not even Keirath could calm him down. Luckily Palia with the help of candidates and S'renn found D'rien in a water cavern nearly drowned but still alive. As D'rien recovered Palia continued her vigil by his side, although part of her was highly upset he never went to the healers. While he was recovering K'rain's little gold firelizard hatched in the caverns of Fort Weyr much to the delight of the candidates. Palia impressed little green Firefly, although the two new firelizards were not nearly as well behaved and well trained as Skydancer her bronze.
During Fort Weyr's candidacy, Palia managed to snag several candidates including Tehyzim and Miake, the latter who impressed a green to her delight. Later, Prysm's Althiath took to the skies and Keirath chased and lost. Discouraged by the loss, he and Palia went to the ice lake to cool him off. Palia swam in the waters. To her own surprise, visitors showed up at the lake for much the same reason, brown Onareth and his rider S'renn trying to slake the heat of a gold flight down in Monaco. Palia had become close to S'renn, considering him a good friend and disrupting her beliefs about Monaco being full of scary riders, her first experience having met Eliwys and gold Leyrith. S'renn was completely the opposite, kind and caring. Both of them, succumbed that night to a baser instinct left over by their dragon's lust. It was that union that caused Palia much distress.
She didn't know how to tell D'rien. He was still recovering from his illness and it was an emotional blow when Palia admitted having relations with another man, but would not say who with. He walked out of the weyr and took off on Falnerith, Palia left behind in a stream of tears knowing she deserved whatever he gave her. They finally came to terms although the door to S'renn was not closed shut. In fact, it had been opened wide, when the next month Palia found out alonside of her best friend Prysm, that she was expecting. This came as a great shock to the bluerider. She never had any intentions of getting pregnant until she was older and at that they were going to be D'rien's children! But this child, belonged to a certain brownrider in Monaco who had stolen a piece of her heart.
D'rien was hurt even worse and Palia didn't know how to make it up to him. S'renn and D'rien both met and Palia who hadn't told the identity of the man she had that night, fainted dead away when D'rien guessed he was the one Palia had relations with. S'renn confessed his love for her to D'rien, and D'rien said it had to be his weyrmate's choice who she chose. Confusion and dread now faces Palia along with other emotions in her pregnancy. Now she must choose, the deep love of her weyrmate who has always been there? Or a new love, one that has already created a bond that will never be broken?
Early History Credit (before Palia arrived to Fort Weyr) goes to Valeda. Valeda had created her character first on SilverSkies MUSH and entreated me to come play. Upon being stumped on a character to create I started to inquire into her family history and discovered she had two sisters in her background, Melisande and Palia. Going for the younger of the two, I tweaked a few things Valeda had written in her own background, to include a reason of "WHY" Palia would go to Fort Weyr. Because of this, it has created many wonderful roleplays between Valeda's player and I as sisters trying to find a common ground when their tempers are so very different.
Palia's Personality
Personality tests are designed to tell us whether we're an introvert or an extrovert. I think of Palia as neither. She's good with both groups of
people and yet comfortable with one-on-one relationships.
Palia is, to put it bluntly, fussy. She likes things NEAT! Anything out of place needs to be put back immediately. This is her mother's influence. She was raised to be a lady and to always mind her manners. She was also raised with the reminder "A Lady Never Lets Herself Be Seen In Public As Less Than A Lady." While this sounds "great", it entails much work on Palia's part to always look as if she's just casually elegant and not a hair out of place. She takes great care of her appearance under this influence, always maintaining her sense of style. She offers tips to those who ask for advice on behaving as she does. Prysm made that mistake once and never asked again, although Palia was quite pleased with her work "making over" her best friend.
Because of her fussy nature, Palia is not really relaxed in public. Oh she seems to be when sitting in the caverns, back straight and prim as a lady with hands folded in lap. But her eyes are probably straying to that "fixture" out of place or that hearth crack that needs repairing or even J'van who at one time "in her opinion" needed a bib to eat. Not to mention those hunters who just bring in stray dogs, a bane of her existence. No indeed she likes things to be just as they should be, all rough and tumble stuff left outside and proper ladies and gentlemen indoors. Although she does try to hold her tongue on this since it is not genteel to criticize others.
She is relaxing a bit more since impression and Keirath is convincing her to try more new things a lady wouldn't do. Like "firestone" tossing which builds up muscle, or an impromptu snowball fight with D'rien and Falnerith. The messes that Keirath makes are cleaned with a little hard work, nothing Palia is afraid of although she's known to glance at her pretty nails mournfully as they scuff from the tasks she now does.
And you thought someone like this didn't exist! Palia's personality actually comes from a lady I know in real life. This lady was bred in the south, where if you leave the house without lycra on your thighs above age fourteen you weren't "brought up right." This lady I know never lets herself be seen in public unless her clothes are straight and neat, her make-up and hair are fixed for company and her manner is always polite and lady-like. She sounds snobby but she's a very sweet woman. She was just raised to believe girls grew into ladies. She always keeps a neat house, the only time you'll ever catch it looking less than its best is when her grandchildren come over and strew their toys across the carpet. But if you walk into her home without them there you'd swear you'd just stepped into the Southern Homes and Gardens, Best Home Interior section. She's always in fashion, wearing thing that accent her maturity and it gave me great pleasure to create a personality based off of hers.

SKYDANCER
Shadowed Black Egg
The shell of this egg is seemingly of one color: a deep, shiny black that glows as if a thick lacquer had been laid over it. However, if gazed at closely the egg reveals a hidden secret. It consists of many hues of black--splotches closely spaced so that gray cannot be distinguished from the deepest color lacking any hint of light. The dappled effect is nearly nonexistent, so subtle are the changes in pattern that blend from one to the other.

Shadowed Bronze Firelizard
So deep is the color of his hide, the hue is more akin to burning charcoal than bronze. Red gleams dark within the molten shadows of his rich ruby-brown hide, a brief flicker like a smoldering ember the only indication that there is any fire to his skin. Blackened flakes riddle his hide like pockmarks--a dusting of quiescent soot that can't be wiped away. Ribbons of a shade that is like bronze, only darker, as if it had been mixed with black iron, silhouette his small face. They curl up over eye ridges and around his headknobs, threading around his throat to disperse in a tangle down his throat.
Skydancer's bands are delicately painted upon his upper left front foreleg like a commanding leadership patch. The bands are in the Fort Weyr colors.
Temper Inspiration for Skydancer
Crais was a Captain of the Peacekeepers, the enforcers of a race of people called Sebaceans on a TV Show Called Farscape. He doggedly pursued Moya and her fleeing Crew, determined to get Crichton, an Earth Human in his clutches and kill him for the accidental death of his brother. The persistence of Crais drove him to betray everything he'd ever been taught, changing his entire personality in his revenge. After several encounters, he turned abruptly and decided to let Crichton live, escaping with a newborn Liveship with Talon as its Pilot. Crais is a determined and very commanding person. Cunning and clever are only part of his traits. Your firelizard will be sly, cunning and clever, determined to protect his human.

Keirath's Description
The edge of two worlds, night and day, meet upon the dragon's hide in the soft violet-blue hue of twilight. Mystery shrouds him in it's shadowed grip - a murky haze of cerulean limned thunderclouds encroaching over long tail and lean haunches. Electricity flashes in brilliant arcs of blue topaz, casting its web-like tracery forth along spine and flanks, luminous light briefly illuminating then slowly blending into the dusky darkness. One bold bolt has etched its fiery presence into the dragon's forehead, right between his eyes - a jagged mark of sapphire intensity. Cobalt veins his fragile wings, painting translucent flesh with the barest hint of shimmering silvery-blue - the light of the universe's transient stars shining in the night.
Dragon Description Credit
This dragon was created by Jalis. He is based off of the main character from the J.K. Rowling's books: Harry Potter. Yes! He is indeed Harry Potter - in draconic form. His description signifies Harry in that the Twilight time is considered to be a nexus between two worlds - this one and that one. I felt this epitomized Harry because he is a little boy caught between two worlds: Muggle and Wizard. The Lightning is for the lightning bolt marking Harry's forehead, signifying his battle with Voldemort and overcoming opposition as well as his mother's love that saved him.
What The Candidates Saw
What Palia Heard
From out of nowhere, an electrical thrum vibrates in your inner ear. It is an annoying kind of white-noise buzzing sound, filtering away everything as it consumes your attention. At first there is nothing but the noise. However, gradually the noise becomes discernable as a distinctive sound: a voice. That voice has words but they're vague and fuzzy ones. Time passes like an eternity though it surely must be only moments as the words become understandable, their impact one bombardment among many as a flood of emotions overwhelms. A jumble of words combined with a welter of feelings not your own indicate a slight exasperation as well as a gnawing, empty belly. << Palia? Palia! >> The lightning and twilight hatchling desperately tries to get your attention. Gleeful once he does, the warmth of his voice envelops you, << Palia, it is Keirath! I made it! You weren't waiting long, were you? >>
Imagine a horsehair bow pulled gently across the strings of a violin. The music is soft and mellow, a slight lilting sound reverberating upon its strings. Now add to this the somber melody of the clarinet as its music swoops around each note the violin hums. Your Keirath's voice is like a cosmic melding of those two voices in concert though when emotions rise, other instruments join to become an orchestra. When curiosity blooms within the heart of your dragon, the throaty echo of an oboe's breath whispers forth, sanguine and probing, looking for the answers. Sadness brings the deep and somber tones of the earthy bassoon, the instruments notes bellowing upwards from deep down in the most hidden part of the soul. Excitement brings the light, airy sounds of a flute to mind, its breathy song enveloping everything while anger is the deep throb of a bass' strings plucked disharmoniously. Drowning out all when urgency and emergency is clear is the brassy music of the French horn, trumpeting out its sound in strident tones that are enough to wake even the dead.
Never quite content with just the bowl as he grows older, he'll be glad when the flying starts. From up high he can see just as far as the eye can reach - unfortunately for you though, he'll hunger to explore those furthest reaches and he won't be able to just then. Keirath also happens to enjoy collecting little mementoes of his adventures. A rock with pretty green swirls, a feather from an avian, a slick bit of sea washed glass, you name it, if its at the site he explores, he'll urge you to pick it up: << Oooh! Palia, lookie that! That'll look just perfect in our collection! Get it! Get it! >>. As he grows, he'll turn lean and lanky, muscles clinging to his bones in wiry cords. He'll be a tough fellow, ready and eager to meet any challenges.
One of his other passions will be flying - not just threadfall, where he'll excel with his keen eye for spotting even the smallest bits of thread trying to get through the ranks of dragons. Flying though, unimpeded by ranks of dragons, soaring free through the air, performing feats of amazing acrobatics, he'll do these, and he'll do them well, and he'll often amaze, or frighten you with his abilities and his ideas. He's not stupid though, there are things even -he- won't try, unless he's looking out for someone else in Fall.
When it comes to the greens, Keirath's a little shy - he's friendly, polite and even affectionate though never flirty - that's just not in his personality to spout tons of flowery words and try to butter them up with whimsy and poetry. He's a straightforward type of guy and admires from afar. However, when a green rises, he puts all of his heart into the task, chasing after them for all that he is worth, not to mention utilizing some of his aerobatic skills in the hopes that they'll do him some good!
Palia, you'll be his favorite person in the entire world, of course! He'll always be by your side and supportive though he'll not hesitate to give you a piece of advice now and then, or get irritated with you when you're not doing something he really wants to do. He'll encourage you to reach for all your dreams -- he'll even tell you that your stew is great (When it's not). But he'll also tell you when you're doing something that hurts you because more than anything else, he wants your happiness! He'll also push you into doing things for yourself and being your own person and to be the strongest person you can be. Keirath is your ultimate soul mate!
Several foot wide strips of tanned leather have been sewn together with double-twisted waxed cord, making up his neck and chest straps. The leather is resilient, the sewn double edges staggered so that the awl holes are less exposed to stress and weakness. Sensible cotton padding has been sewed beneath to protect Keirath's twilight blue hide from chaffing. These leathers make up the neck and chest straps for him, not pretty by any means, but sensible for wear in threadfall and every day usage. The buckles are in good condition, not polished to perfection, but not old and dingy. Riding straps dangle from these, braided two inches thick by five smaller pieces of tough leather. These are used in flight to prevent Palia or passengers from falling off of him. Tethering straps are braided around the fore-strap to keep sacks of firestone or any parcels, secure during transportation. Toe loops have been worked and braided on the neck straps to aid in mounting the big blue.

The pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle, the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true.
The chalice from the palace broke, the pellet with the poison is in the flagon with a dragon, the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.
Try saying those. It's hilarious!
